Yep...I’m just going to go watch that right now...

Disclaimer: I did not see the sequels. I do not want to see the sequels. I only ever watched the first one, and it was wonderful. :D My seven-year-old self loved that movie, and I’m crazy happy I get to watch it again. :D 

Other people: “...oookay...so...why are you going to watch a cartoon movie...?”

Me (mentally): “Well, you see, I saw it when I was really really little and I just LOVED it because it’s about this character who basically goes up against all the odds and really does an insane amount of cool stuff and the music’s gorgeous and it was just so inspiring and -

Me (out loud): “Well, there’s this wolf, and this goose - ”

Other people: “...a goose..?”

Me: “Yeah - a goose - who is, by the way, freaking hilarious -”

Other people: “Are you sure you’re not-”

Me: “Crazy? Oh, guys, I got on the crazy train years ago. It’s awesome, you should join - just go to platform 9 3/4 and run straight at the wall-”

Other people: “...God, you are such a nerd...”

This is the part in the conversation where I point to the Harry Potter socks I am wearing, the Tardis coffee mug in my hand, the sword-cane in our study, and all the books my husband and I have accumulated over the years, along with movie soundtracks, movies, and the fact that he and I are pretty much are Sokka and Suki from Avatar the Last Airbender show. (It’s awesome, by the way.)

The look I then give these ‘other people’ can best be described as follows:

‘No shit.’ 

It’s not that I dislike being called a nerd, but by now, it’s slightly frustrating for it to come as a surprise to people. 

GUYS WHAT DO YOU EXPECT?! LOOK AT ME. LOOK. LOOK AT THE NERDINESS. I LIVE AND BREATHE THIS STUFF, GUYS. AND I FREAKING LOVE IT!!!

Well, that turned into a ramble. But hey, I really wanted to say it. :-)

Spoiler alert if you haven’t seen ‘Balto’: What follows below is a line that still, to this day (easily fifteen years after I first saw this), remains one of my all time favorite lines, ever.
