you know something with me is that i either almost immediately notice queerness or potential queerness in tv shows or do not notice it until someone points it out
i do think it has a little bit to do with me subconsciously taking in the creators and stuff
like with violetta, when i first watched s1, i knew i was watching a disney show made in 2012 by mostly men. so i didn’t initially see a lot of queerness in it. it took me a bit to see franletta as a potential ship and i didn’t even think of luty as romantic before looking through tumblr
while for hazbin hotel, for chaggie specifically (which is a ship where a lot of people didn’t even realize they were dating until the end of the first season), when i watched the pilot, the very first scene they appear in together, i was IMMEDIATELY like “hold on… is this what i think it is?” and went to google if they were actually together, because it seemed like they were but i wanted to be sure. and maybe it’s because i knew the show was queer. but i also doubt i wouldn’t have noticed the chemistry even if i didn’t know it was made by a queer creator (well i didn’t know the creator was queer but i knew the show itself was)
in general i tend to often look at shows the way the writers want me to look at them. so if the writers want to me see a show as queer, i will. and if they want me to see it as straight, i also will.
I love that the dcla wlw ships that I have gotten fankids for, all of them concieved with donors - and the thing is, it’s anonymous donors.
With Jim and Yam, I have two kids for them and they took turns being pregnant. Ramiro is the godfather for their oldest daughter and Luna is the godmother of their youngest. But I just know that Ramiro really wanted to be the donor to their kids and got sad when they declined.
At the same time, I have thought about later about how it would have been really sweet if they had allowed him. Maybe in another universe he’s the donor.
For Franletta, obviously I also fankids for their canon couples so we have a multiverse for them; but in the universe where Franletta are together instead, they have three kids: Two conceived with a donor where they also took turns being pregnant, and then the third was adopted. And like honestly, Leon and Diego could absolutely have been donors for them. But I think I wanted Franletta to have something on their own so that’s why they got anonymous donors instead.
Then there’s Luty. They only have one kid, Ludmila was pregnant. For them I don’t think they’d even considered asking their friends to donate lol

Not a favourite SL ship for me, but they're canon idec.

I see Nina as the token straight and Luna as aro, but I understand why people like them as a ship!
