okay so yall know that when we are introduced to the Truthsinger, we are told that “anyone cut is deemed unworthy to lie” and later in the court case we’re told that the sword forces people to tell the truth? WELL TELL ME WHAT HAPPENS WHEN CDOT USES THE TRUTHSINGER ON PRESTON PRIME?? HE FUCKING DIES.

basically what I’m getting at here is that Preston/F.D’s (so either both or one of them’s) truth was death. For Preston, it’s kind of hard to determine when exactly his truth became death (I mean if you want my personal opinion on it, his truth was determined to be death the second that bastard was created /hj) but the logs help us decipher the moment F.D’s truth was death. That moment is when he started to do something immoral, so kidnapping and experimenting on children (yes children plural, shorts wars number theory catch up /j). That’s actually a theory I have that maybe people’s truths can change when they do something either morally right or morally wrong and the Truthsinger is what decides when it slashes someone. So like I just said, F.D’s truth changed to death when he started his cruel experiments to satisfy his own desires (idk if that theory makes sense hopefully it does lmao)
