just watched evie almost cry because a spider was inside the car. this is your god??
The most painful part of rewriting Fractures is having to read what was written originally lmao.
The most enjoyable part of rewriting Fractures is reading the new stuff instead. Oh, I cannot WAIT to finish it so that you all can see. All this work will be worth it, I swear.
Rewrite!Zuko is angry. That is the thing that I have come to know the most about him. He is still kind, and he is desperate for peace, but he has been hurt, and he is angry.
All things considered, I think he deserves to be.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, FRACTURES!!!
That’s right! 7 years ago, on August 1st, 2019, the first chapter of Fractures was published. Now, this ongoing story could be entering second grade. Wow.
To celebrate on my side, I purchased myself a cupcake.
To celebrate on your side, I offer up a gift: keep your eye out, because in the next few hours, you’re getting the next chapter of Fractures Book 2. Surprise!

I just started reading fractures two days ago and finished what's out today so im new here. i kind of thought that it might have been abandoned since it hasn't been updated in a year but then i looked here and saw mentions of a rewrite? i figured you must have talk about what you're doing w/ fractures earlier but like i said im new here and was wondering if you could clear some things up, please. i also want to say that im a huge fan of your work and i made a account just to ask you about this
Okay, so for anyone who doesn't know, here is the deal with Fractures:
I have issues with the first work. This is primarily in the order of events, some characterization, and the writing style just in general. It comes from me not having a plan for the story when I started, not fully having a grasp on the characters, and being 14 when I began writing it. Things have changed.
Now, I am currently in the process of rewriting all of the Prologue/Book 1 of Fractures. The first chapter is the rewritten version, already published, with the original first one still being accessible to read in the Fractures Archive work under the series on Ao3. Because going forward in Book 2, I plan to use the rewritten characterization, I do not want to continue with Book 2 until the rewrite is done.
However, it looks as though I am not really doing anything. This is not true, I promise. The problem is that the rewrite is being published over the original work rather than as a separate work altogether, with the original chapters being ported over into the Archive. This is because the original work is always going to have more kudos, hits, comments, etc., and I want it to therefore be the best (rewritten) version of itself. As a result, I cannot publish any of the rewrite until it is fully completed, because events are being moved around (i.e. Tora and Azami are introduced in Chapter 2 rather than Chapter 20-something). It would be too confusing.
So instead, I have to finish rewriting all 285k words worth of fic before I can publish any more of the rewrite. I have so much written at this point, but it doesn't look like it to you guys because I can't publish it yet.
But I swear, I am working on it, and once it is done, I will also feel comfortable continuing on with Book 2, after offering up over 250k-worth of new stuff to read anyway lol. I hope that'll make up for the 'hiatus.'
Whatever I have referred to before as the 'strangest thing about the Fractures Rewrite' was a lie. The real strangest thing is the idea that I am one day actually going to be done with it. It's going to be uploaded for all of you to read. That's insane. I can't wait.
I keep having to take breaks from rewriting Ozai's Interlude just because it makes my skin crawl lol. What a miserable guy.
