It's possible that we're kind of operating on a surface level right now because in subsequent episodes we're going to dig deeper and yeah it's a little boring to me but there might be a payout so I'm still in it to win it I just have to readjust some of my expectations because previous seasons set the bar quite high
Have to say as someone with PCOS who's never had any ovarian problems related to it so far, renaming it to Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome (PMOS) seems kind of silly because we're starting to gain evidence that it might affect people who weren't born with ovaries too. I mean I get if you call it Polyendocrine Metabolic Syndrome that's PMS, so inconvenient, but I think it limits research and understanding to deny this might be a multi-gendered condition. But I think that the real true culprit of misunderstanding here is that we're approaching it from the concept of syndrome instead of trying to actually figure out if it's like three conditions in a trench coat or something, which it most likely is.
Saw the Odyssey trailer and now I'm curious about previous adaptations because this one has so much of a Nolan movie ego vibe that I'm curious about movies that don't feel so generic
You know one time when i was in high school it was dark and I couldn't see out the windows and I thought I'd missed my stop. I started panicking!!!! and then suddenly we were at the high school and everything was as it should be. (Please note the bus ride was like 10 minutes tops. I was one of the last stops).
Anyway, got to chapter 81 and I no longer feel like I'm on the wrong train. I have arrived at Maonoka and I get it now. I'm not sure why it took me so long to get with the romance program but I am seated and on board. Once I got to [manga spoiler in the 70's somewhere] it clicked with me.
I think part of what took so long is Mao is calmer than other Takahashi romantic interests and he's also more guarded. The way they met also didn't really help me see a potential draw for Nanoka either like with other Takahashi heroes So I started off on more of a platonic route and so as the romance built it felt like it went a little fast lol and I was just like ???? okay then. But that's also why I like them as a ship. It's nice to see some new dynamics mixed in with familiar dynamics.
Maybe I'll understand what I didn't pick up on as the anime progresses.

Made it to chapter 71 of the manga. Still really enjoying. Still not exactly sure how my brain did not get on the romance train with this one, so half the time I'm going ?? it's time for that romantic beat??? ????? what? and I'm still not sure how I managed this.
I looked back through the earlier chapters and the only thing I can figure is that I must have purged myself of enough romantic desire, something I was supposed to pick up on didn't strike me as romantic and I got off on the wrong foot.
Luckily the anime might help me glean some more insight.
Do I ship it? Yes. Do I feel like I got on the wrong train and I don't know where I'm going? A little.
