It was so exhilerating riding my bike through Prospect Park in the morning. The early Spring air cold but invigorating as my pedal assisted bike took me up the hill on the prospect park loop like it wasn't the same challenge it was when I was on my no speed, then 3 speed, then 10 speed bike as a child. The climb was easier but the weight on my shoulders was so much more than back then. I didn't get to enjoy the flat, the bandshell, the downhill to the pond, the flat around past the parade grounds where I used to play little league and the ride back home. I had to go through grand army plaza, down Vanderbilt, riding past the married life I had for 20 years, past the 11 years of raising a child in Fort Greene, past her middle school, to work in the Navy Yard. Oh what a ride! And how the ride continues.
