I recently spent some time exploring Fort Clinch on Amelia Island, Florida. The fort is a Third System masonary fortification and construction was begun in 1847. Never fully completed, the fort still served as a military post during the Civil War, Spanish-American War and World War II. Currently the fort sits as the centerpiece of Fort Clinch State Park. Historic Fort Clinch doesn't usually have water in it's moat.
