Skeptical + ghosts & vampires
Send me “Skeptical?” + a subject for my muse to give their opinions about it.
“Okay, like, they pretty obviously don’t exist. The vampires are the easy one here– they’d have to have, like, secret existences and undercover societies? And I mean sure those exist but like, everyone knows the black market is a thing. Like hell is a big ol’ secret like vampirism getting by totally undiscovered. Especially in a world with, like, smart phones.
And ghosts… god can we actually talk about ghosts for a hot minute? You notice how they’re always so fucking angry in the movies? Like person dies and turns into a ‘vengeful spirit’,” Nicole’s fingers raised to capture the words in quotation marks, “But most people are, y’know, kind of mundane? So, like, why aren’t ghosts more mundane? You can’t tell me only the crazy ax murderers and the people who are one untimely death away from becoming a crazy ax murderer get ghosted. Not that I buy any of it but if I did, y’know, there’d be more accountants and less poltergeists probably.
But nah, seems pretty plain that when you’re dead you’re dead. There is literally no proof of consciousness existing without a brain, and we already know when bits of brains are destroyed people lose memories and functions and stuff… so when the whole brain is dead, like, what do people think is even left? Fucking bacteria with a pumpkin spice addiction?”
