and Hei Xiazi, Hei Yanjing? he wears his goofy smiles and his chatty exterior like a second skin, always running his mouth, always spouting something outrageous so really, when he tells you that the less light there is the better he can see, that's probably nonsense too. having met this guy already I knew what his deal was but he just talks and talks and talks so much, it's almost impossible to be certain that what he's saying is true at any given time. No one knows what is real, what is not. no one can read him because he's always wearing those shades! he calls himself a blind man but is he seems to walk around just fine with nothing to aid him.

these two have so many walls, so many defenses up to ensure their own survival.

but when Xie Yuchen wants to go exploring something that Hei Xiazi knows is too dangerous? Hei Xiazi drops the defenses. he takes off the glasses, shows Xie Yuchen his eyes, his weak point. he gives Xie Yuchen the key to the biggest mystery about himself, gives him a card that could ruin him.

It hurts, and you'll hate yourself because it would have taken so little to change. You could have just *done something*, how could you not have done something all this time? How could you sit and watch your life slip like sand between your fingers? But it happened, and the very thought that it’s too late to do anything about it is the one keeping you from moving forward. And you have to move forward.
