Leaves crunched beneath his hooves as the horned steed trotted through the forest, having once more let himself and the other horses out of the paddock. He froze as he spotted the elf beneath the tree, debating if he'd need to run before he relaxed and started searching for some sweet grass.
Beneath the beech tree Beleg sat, barefoot and kneeling, his eyes closed as he listened to the sounds of the forest, a hand resting against the tree trunk.
The sound of hooves pricked his interest, and to bid the tree farewell before he opened his eyes.
"What a mighty creature," he breathed, not expecting, of course, any answer. "I have never seen a horse like you."
