Reactions

 Should be posting reactions at least 1-2 times per week (the week is extended if you are doing a scenario to 3-4 weeks)

Do ALL of the members, not just a few members

Don’t do reactions if you are not going to add gifs to it

I will be counting how many reactions you are doing

Scenarios

First tell me that you are writing a scenario

I will give you as much as you need to write your stories (but beware if you don’t post the scenarios within 5-6 months)

Feel free to ask any of the admins to proofread your work

Moodboards

I will allow moodboards

But if it is the only thing that you are posting, expect me to talk to you

Moodboards should not be your main focus

Only post no more than 3 per week

Please tell me if you can’t post and I’ll let it slide

If it is an emergency and you can’t post for more than 5 months, I will put you on hiatus

Admins for more than 1 blog

If you are often a busy person, don’t bother to do two blogs at once (it is very stressful and can take the fun away from being an admin on the blog)

I will allow this, but all of these rules still apply for EACH blog

consider that it might take awhile to generate interest and have a plan to keep promoting !

if you’re going to close , let your members know .

it’s okay if you don’t feel like being an admin today or the next few days , don’t burn yourself out !

more rules for characters and fcs of color .

stop taking “not enough resources” as an excuse from members to whitewash characters or swap their ethnicity !

encourage neurodiverse , differently abled , nonbinary , queer , older and plus size characters !

message all of your new members for plotting or even just saying hi , it means a lot to them !

utilize rphs for shoutouts , fc suggestions , gifs or icons , admin advice .

don’t brush off constructive criticism , sometimes you need to hear it .

let up on activity limits , or discard them all together .

try personally messaging almost inactive members instead !

cater to every timezone that members have in your group .

post announcements on the main , not the discord !

enforce your rules . having these conversations are uncomfortable but they need to be had .

ask your members for feedback and ideas that they have for the group !

stop allowing nsfw content on the dash if your group allows members under eighteen !

( 2 / ? ) is incomplete and fails to acknowledge the huge numbers of people who celebrate other things, or nothing at all, and who do not assimilate into the religious-lite consumerist christmas you idealize. i have never, in my 10+ years rping, been in an rp that acknowledged passover, but countless that had easter, christmas, thanksgiving, valentines, etc. events, themes, whatever.

( 3 / ? ) so until rps exist that actively celebrate passover, eid, kwanzaa, ramadan, hanukkah, or other non-christian holidays, the argument that we should be okay with only ever seeing christian holidays represented is really just sad. i get that you love christmas. you can love christmas. but the idea that christmas is more universal or accessible than other religious holidays is false, problematic, and also hurtful.

sorry about the christmas rant in ur inbox, it's just something that's very real and personal to me. but like the very fact that this issue around holidays and the christian-as-default mindset are quite literally triggering to me ( & probably others ) suggests that perhaps it's not as simple of an issue as white, western, christian, goyish people want to acknowledge

anon you have come to the right person about this because i get HEATED about ooc chats !! here’s the short answer ; we need to either eradicate or revolutionize ooc discord chats completely. 

and the ramble-y answer ??

listen , i have joined groups before & messaged people for plots on tumblr im just for people to be like “sorry i’m a week late! i don’t like chatting on tumblr ims , here’s my discord” which i understand because it’s tumblr and tumblr SUCKS . but when you break it down , this is our platform. you are writing on this site anyways !! and when you say that , what we hear is , “i’m not plotting with you or replying to you because i like discord better.” 

i don’t think it’s unreasonable for me to ask not to be turned away for plots because of the platform . even when the majority are in the discord server ? i don’t care. that one person who isn’t in the discord needs to be included too. stop overly relying on ooc chats.

another unfortunate reality: even when discord chats are optional , every single member who has opted out of that option have gone inactive from lack of plots or are completely left out of the loop because the admins only send important announcements to the discord , and not on the main, such as: hey! we’re closing the group , or even having a channel for an ic group chat. this is not okay.

also here’s from a post i answered like a month ago that articulates the reasons i don’t join discord to begin with.

i’ll be honest, it took me awhile to be okay with the idea since they are so pervasive as well as requested by prospective members. i do acknowledge that , but it comes down to three things that make me firm on this idea ;

ooc chats are anxiety-inducing. it is really, really hard for some people ( like myself ) to put themselves out to an entire server of people to judge and reply. or worse , ignore. sometimes it’s too much , and you miss opportunities and don’t feel like part of the group at all. the idea of doing this to one of my players is horrifying.

they promote bubble roleplaying. when not everyone feels comfortable enough to participate in the chat , or even post little reacts for starters or plots or memes, these people are going to be forgotten about and left out. at no fault of their own. everyone writes with everyone in a world where the three chattiest players don’t dominate the ooc chat. personalities don’t clash and cliques don’t form in a world where ooc chats don’t exist.
