There are also many different titles that people can have when it comes to food preparation. But what exactly is the difference between a chef, a cook, and a food technologist? Let's take a closer look. A chef is someone who has gone through culinary school and has been trained in the art of cooking. A chef is someone who is able to create new recipes and dishes, as well as being able to execute those recipes flawlessly. A chef is also responsible for managing a kitchen and its staff. A cook is someone who has not gone through culinary school but has still received some training in the art of cooking.
