🐝 “Take only pictures, Leave only footprints” does not mean trample flowers to sit or lay in them for photos. Mike and I recently went to the Lupine Superbloom at Folsom Lake and saw a bunch of squashed flowers (swipe to the 2nd to last pic). From kids and dogs running through them to photographers posing their models in the middle of the fields. There’s actually a ton of narrow trails here you can follow and still get that *surrounded-by-wildflowers* shot 📷 without standing in the flowers. It’s all about the ANGLES, baby! #StayOnTrail It was still a magical spot to see, especially since the lake’s water level is the highest it’s been since July 2020!! 💦 So I guess there’s THAT. Had my first flight lesson today (finally!). I've wanted to learn to fly for over a decade and this was the first step. Holy cow...I've done some exhilarating things before but this tops it all. I almost cried with sheer joy and excitement flying by myself (with a killer instructor who did take off/landings and talked me through EVERYTHING). 🛩️ I flew over #folsomprison and #folsomlake & saw the snowy #sierramountains from 4k feet and practiced turning on a runway. . I'm literally going to be unbearable to be around for a while because this is all I wanna do now. Finished this commission of a cute dog today. He is pictured in the Northern California Lupine Bloom ( Folsom Lake area) because his owner is from that area and bought my landscape I made from a photo of @optimal_focus photography and we decided to make her dogs portrait match . I’m setting up a listing on Etsy for various portrait options ( person, pet, person and pet , in a natural setting, plain background etc.).
