#follower goal

redraw of the first thing I ever posted on here!! thank you guys sosososossosososoooo much for 300 followers!

As someone who has gained around 270 followers over the course of five days or so, let me share what has helped me the most !

( DISCLAIMER : I am by no means claiming I’m so big jirai super - star, or on some sort of ego trip . Making a few changes to my blog helped me to the point I typically gain 10 + followers a day or so . Also, this isn’t a numbers game ! Posting should bring you joy, not stress . )

choosing a popular character that isn’t currently a jiraiblogger !

: I know you really, REALLY want to be Ame or Kangel ( yes I clocked you . ) but you will nine times out of ten will be drowned out by the bigger bloggers that are already there . Choose someone else ! I chose a specific Len card from Project Sekai, and no one else ( to my knowledge . ) has does this ! He’s popular enough to be known, and neishe enough to be unique .

Have a distinct theme, and stick with it !

: I have a theme I have stuck with for a while, calm blues , easy to read style of typing , the chat filter text with blue highlights , it blends seamlessly together . I’ve been told by people I’m their comfort blogger , or they find me rather soothing . And that is because it’s by design . I didn’t just fuck around and stumbled onto this, I made a character and stuck with it ! This isn’t to say this isn’t my true personality, I just took a part of my aesthetic and stuck with it .

Follow first, and take initiative !

: has someone like a bunch of your post ? Spam them back and send an ask thanking them for their support ! Has someone like a post of yours or commented ? Like their intro post and follow them ! Do you enjoy the content of a fellow jirai blogger ? Follow them and consistently interact with them ! This is how you create a loyal community to genuinely will keep engaging with you . If you show interest and initiative, they’ll know you’ll stick around for the long haul .

Post EVERY DAY .

: as much as it sucks sometimes, and as obvious as it seems, you gotta post my dude . Some days I really, REALLY don’t wanna . So I post something low effort, or some art ! I also keep up with interactions, answer asks, and my dailies as I call them .

Interact, but don’t be parasocial .

: I mean, you could choose to be parasocial with your followers, yet I personally stray away from it . I want someone to enjoy me because I post quality content, I’m kind, I’m their comfort blogger, not because I’ve love - bombed them to the point they adore me . That is how someone is in your dms threatening to harm themselves if they aren’t loved by you . It’s your choice, but it isn’t for me .

know what you’re trying to be and don’t stray .

: I knew from the start I wanted to be a comfort blogger, someone who makes people feel safe in my little corner of the internet . For someone to get a bit of joy out of my stupid posts . And I don’t change it up usually . Unless I’m shitposting or going through something ( cough cough the FBI incident … ) I stay on my usual schedule . Know what you want to be, and create an audience who will enjoy it !

If you’re gonna answer an ask, be thoughtful .

if I’m answering an ask game, I’m really giving my thoughts . If someone gives me a gift, I’m going to be thankful and specific with my compliments . If someone tells me they’re reminded of something when they look at me, I give them an anecdote about my experience with that thing . It creates a bond with your anon / moot and keeps them coming back !

i wont get more popular if i just sulk in a puddle of self-pity!!! i have a goal. i want to gain 30 followers by the end of the week!!!! if you can, please help me achieve this ^_^
