And a good portion of the difference between the story of the Murray’s and the Mimic in comparison to the story of the Murray’s + F10-N4 and M2 can be grouped as "Everyone is having a worse time in one way or another"

Actually, yknow what? Everything is at least a bit more extreme in Sotm than it was in Tales, and that actually works pretty well for this series i think,,

and then there's David, who just died. but the game doesn't even tell you as it did for Fiona's or Dad-Murray. little guy just dispawn. and then it's like!!! oh there's something very logical you could do about that!! because there is a guy out there who kills kid (and he does!! henry suddenly asks the suit to not be springlocks without explaining because he knows!! but - and it's actually headcanon of mine, even if i can feel scott longing for a double killer thingy - he doesn't tell because he might be under threat! as in William has leverage on him (charlotte me thinks!!!) so anyway that's what is saying the killing had started) but nOOOOO. let's not get into that. and it's not like William obviously had plans to destroy his rivals and (corporately) eat their companies...

and you know what??? that would make so much sense mimic-wise too because, ok i get it M2 is violent because of Edwin. but here's another thing that bothers me: he hides corpses in suits. "ok but that might be because he's a mimic and he gets into suits to do its job" and i hear you but also that's too easy and not enough because this is a theme in the whole series that was brought by william's actions to begin with. you don't want to let go of the original series and you insist of making it harder on yourself and create retcons ok fine then do it all the way and connect the dots, you know what i mean?

so now it just feels like they went "we do that because it's how it's been in the others games" without thinking of what that could mean storytelling-wise. because that also happens with the White Tiger it just feels like it's here because we needed to make something like Golden Freddy but it couldn't be Golden Freddy. and I know! I know it's always been like this, random details, minimum thinking it through but why couldn't this be a little more than that? it was more than that in SL & PS (i mean yeah, no, not for the endo in SL)

and yeah sure White Tiger could be David because that's his plushie and he makes child noises (again. golden freddy.) and i don't have a problem with that - even if i admit it i'd rather have David haunt M2. it's just, can we stop and think about it? if that's true, why is White Tiger aggressive? because again, everyone else is aggressive because of anger and being killed unfairly + M2 who was abused. and not knowing David's death, brushed away like it wasn't something that needs our attention, as if he died naturally, it's making it so weird? it's making it like the default, that if you die in this universe and you're haunting, you're automatically aggressive.

and lastly - and this is very much on a personal level - it would have made Edwin much more sympathetic to me because I hate that guy. but maybe that was the point i don't point. but also let's be honest it doesn't help that he's central to the retcon that keeps choosing to erase henry's actions and now tell us that he's not the og artist rrrr bark bark don't touch my guy

-make Greg slightly taller- not too much, bc he is still supposed to be mistaken for a little kid (as seen in GGY) BUT I do think the model in SB is probably a little too small. I’d say bump him up a few inches at least.

-make Vanessa slightly shorter- she’s WAY too tall in SB, and if you look at her in the comics, she doesn’t tower. She is tall, but not THAT tall.

(In contrast to each other, I don’t think Greg should be past her shoulders, it just doesn’t feel right. AT BEST, I’d say he comes up to her chest)

-give Vanessa a new outfit- this one’s a given. Obviously she doesn’t have the security outfit after the end of SB. But she also has no model yet with the purple flannel. And I’m dying to see it.

-Vanessa non defying gravity ponytail, or hair down- I honestly don’t really care if she doesn’t have the super long ponytail. I think the middle/high one looks fine. My only issue is that it defies gravity when it should NOT 😅 so uh.. please fix that :3 As far as hair down goes, that.. is just for guilty pleasure. Not a huge deal, but I’d be quite pleased to see it :3

-personally, I don’t think the eyes need to change. Maybe Greg’s can be less orange and more of a hazel with orange tint. But.. I kinda like them having huge bug eyes. Idc if it’s “too anime” or whatever, it works for the style. (Besides, Greg is described as being a “wide eyed little kid” and Cassie’s REMODEL has bug eyes. So it shouldn’t be a big deal at all)

-Gregory.. doesn’t really need a new outfit. Especially if they’re on the run, I doubt getting new clothes is a priority tbh (but I’d absolutely DIE if he was shown wearing Vanessa’s flannel, to keep warm or something)

-take off Gregory’s bandaids (maybe add a scar)- Greg’s bandaids shouldn’t be there still after months. At most, you’re only supposed to wear them for like.. a few days. So honestly, I don’t anticipate him really having a scar either.. I just have grown accustomed to liking the idea through fanon

-make Vanessa’s freckles more prominent- I can understand why they’d be faded in SB, since it seems she pretty much spends the whole time in the dark, up in Fazerblast and down creepy halls. But now that she’s free, they should be more exposed from the sunlight. (Like I don’t think she’s necessarily COVERED in them, but she should definitely have them scattered on her nose and cheeks)

-REDUCE VANESSAS CHEST- I cannot stress this one enough. HER CHEST IS NOT THAT BIG. In the comic endings it’s so clear that she’s sitting at average, but the model does such a disservice in objectifying her too much. I’d say she’s probably a C cup maybe.

-I don’t really care if Vanessa has muscles honestly. I actually think her being a scrawny thing works better for her character. She’s supposed to be weak and incompetent, it makes her character more compelling honestly both as an antagonist and potential protagonist

-fix Greg’s hair a little. The style is fine but the model makes it a bit too stiff, maybe fluff it out a bit.

-And for the love of all things good, GIVE VANESSA A FULL HEAD OF HAIR.

thaaaaaats a good question. I’ve seen some speculation around about it being a relative to Cassie (like a grandfather or something) but.. I fear I just don’t really see enough evidence to suggest it. I’m more inclined to believe that Cassie’s dad COULD be the silent protag of hw2, but again, it’s all up to speculation and really all we have.. is the fact that the person seemed to be a technician.

That being said, the best thing I can suggest maybe for now, is that it’s just another silent protag used to propel the story forward and never be heard from again. Which I’ll admit, is not my favorite form of storytelling bc it leaves any emotional impact with the character we play as diluted, but it serves its purpose to the bare minimum. And I suppose that’s all I can ask for.

(Also yes I’m aware TECHNICALLY Vanessa was a silent protag in help wanted and she clearly had bigger impact than we expected, so I won’t ENTIRELY write it off as them being unimportant in the long run, but this is also taking place in the past soo idk)

Ok, now that that’s taken care of. Here’s my thoughts.

Yes I do think that the way this book was handled was.. less than ideal. Cassie does not seem to be very much in character from what we see of her in Ruin. BUT.. as far as Greg’s character goes.. I don’t think it’s entirely ooc.

Bc while they do not explicitly state it, it’s very clear this is GGY we’re dealing with. Not Greg. I dont see any evidence stating otherwise. So the question of why he doesn’t act the way he does in the story GGY?

Guys, I’m telling you. GGY and Vanny are not that far removed from Gregory and Vanessa. They are not the opposite personality, they are the true personalities and traits just AMPLIFIED.

Please there’s SOO much evidence to prove it! Gregory was described as being a prankster and having dark humor. Which is fine. So then once the virus takes over and he becomes GGY, obviously some of those traits will still linger, especially in the beginning, as we saw with Vanessa in the ar emails

Which brings me to my next point. I’ve said since the beginning that I believed this is taking place BEFORE GGY (as in the story) and now, I fully believe it.

I believe Gregory was the one to befriend Cassie, and it was only shortly after that he was targeted to become the next follower (it’s possible he was being stalked by Vanny at the time of his and Cassie’s meeting, but that’s a heavy speculation) and instead of Cassie being the last supposed victim, she was supposed to be the FIRST. THE TEST.

Bc think about it. Tony and Ellis are not mentioned, bc they haven’t shown up yet. Vanessa is not yet at the pizzaplex as a security guard, she’s still at the Funtime services (we know she transfers AFTER Greg becomes GGY due to the therapy tapes) and it would make sense that early on in the possession, that virus would still be tinkering around with the traits.

So yea, I fully believe that timeline wise, it can work. The idea can work.

The story itself however, is the problem

The way it’s executed is in very poor taste of the characters. Cassie is dumbed down tremendously, and the way it’s described as how “Gregory” tampered with the programming is very lackluster.

I personally believe this was an attempt to give Cassie a bigger incentive to become the next big antagonist. Bc even if it wasn’t Gregory that was trying to hurt her in the book or who dropped the elevator in ruin, she THINKS it was. Which would allow the virus/mimic/glitchtrap the perfect opportunity to morph and manipulate her into the perfect victim, the one more WILLING to have their mind altered.

However. I think this could’ve easily been done without the need to make Gregory’s character look bad by comparison. It just feels lazy to me if you need to make one character look bad simply to make the other look better. Again, it more than likely is GGY. But bc it’s never STATED as such, we don’t have any actual evidence to fall back on.

So yea, could this kind of story theoretically work for the timeline? Yes. But it needed SERIOUS editing and alterations. Cassie simply wouldn’t keep falling for the same stuff multiple times in a row. And there didn’t need to be more incentive for Cassie to become the next big bad. She already has it with ruin.

I’m moreso interested to see what potential implications the game could tell us about how the mimic works. Two of the biggest things I’d love to have answers to are:

1. How the mimic created its “relluctant followers” aka Vanny, Rab, and potentially possessed!Cassie. There’s too much speculation and not enough confirmation. I have my theory on how it works but I’d just like a solid explanation. It’d be nice.

2. What this means going forward for the next present day game. For the (hopefully) return of the 3 star fam as protags (I personally hope as antiheroes rather than full fledged heroes bc it makes more sense to me but we’ll see) and for what they plan to do with cassie. I do think it’s leaning into new antagonist/relluctant follower territory but I’ve been wrong before. I simply don’t know

But either way, I think it’s pretty cool to finally be getting more info. I hope we are setting up for Fallfest but again, I’m not a fortune teller 😅 only time will tell. Just my two cents.

Like every other fan art I see, has them with thin eyes and round face.

And more often than not it’s clearly not because of the artists style (although sometimes that’s the case) because they have CC or someone else with them and they have different facial features.
