all of the choices given to him by the fan are gold star girl groups. a company stan, seungwoo assumes. really, he’s been listening to a lot of silhouette’s older songs recently, but instead of just circling silhouette, he marks all four off, and adds plus element. it’s a pity, seungwoo thinks, that element are so often left out of the conversation. he slides the answer back to the fan and explains, “our company is built off of girl groups, right? that doesn’t escape me, ever.”
what should someone do to win your heart?
seungwoo coughs awkwardly, thinking it over with a hum, pursing his lips. “i don’t know, to be honest.” quickly, he scribbles down be kind. “kindness and understanding are most important.” it’s kind of (read: very) cringey, but seungwoo hasn’t the experience required to give anything even slightly more nuanced.
what do you want for your next birthday?
“nothing!” he answers quickly, shaking his head and holding up his hands in protest. “i have enough clutter in my house already.” seungwoo laughs, scrunching up his nose. he can see the fan isn’t satisfied with his answer. “but, i guess if you really want to get me something, how about one of those animal adoption packages? i really like pangolins nowadays.”

nari was tired and promotions didn’t help a bit. because if she was being honest, she didn’t want to promote whatta man. the song was good. the dance was good and it was a switch up from their normal style. it was great. but she couldn’t feel that way. instead she wanted to run away. so it was a little hard to sleep. her mind kept racing and finally nari got up and left her room. hopping that everyone was sleep. she wanted to break down and if would probably wake her room-mates up.
but no one was in the kitchen and nari plopped down in a chair. burying her head in her hands. one second. that was all it took for the tears to come out. a mix of her tiredness and frustration. because she was stuck, stuck and tired.
Daisuke hadn’t been expecting the year to turn out like this. With his name ending up in headlines way more often than he was used to, all for good reasons thankfully, the Japanese idol was a lot more active than he ever thought he would be. The first three years he spent with CHARM consisted of him trying to mesh into the background as much as possible, just coming to the forefront when he had to sing. Now he was becoming one of the more requested members of the group, which put a lot of pressure on his shoulders. Especially with his new gig of being an MC on Inkigayo. He was just glad that he had two people he was close to working with him. He was in rehearsal for the live show, running through lines with Soojin while Sung was off getting his hair and makeup done. He looked over his script, scrunching up his nose. “What’s this say?” He held it out to Soojin. While his Korean had improved drastically over the years, it was still difficult for him to read it sometimes. And he definitely didn’t want to mess up during the live taping.
“ soojin! ” minhee runs over to the wish member, glad to have caught her backstage at the gold star concert. “ did they just rope you in for that interview thing for the concert? ” she loops her arm with soojin’s. “ anyways, i have a question for you! how much longer are you promoting bee for? maybe we can share a waiting room, hm? i’m almost about to start solo promotions and . . . i hate being alone. ”

synopsis: things that went through candy’s mind after spending time with baby soojin.
A villain will always see themselves as the hero in their story. This was something she read somewhere but Candy knew that she’s no hero and maybe she’ll never be one. She’s nothing but a villain. Maybe an anti-hero at best. Was it selfish of her to save herself and only herself? Was she unfair to put up her walls so high that no one can climb them? Was it wrong for her to be greedy and want everything that life has for her to offer? Sometimes, she barely understands the way how life works.
Fate has not always been kind to her just as life has always been a tad bit unfair to everyone. Memories of yesterday seem so clear to her like daylight and promises of tomorrow seem like light years away from where she’s looking. Ahead of her is nothing but mystery and she dares not to look back on her past but after meeting Soojin, it’s as if life was playing a cruel joke on her. Soojin was too much like her. The young Hwayoung who had nothing but her passion to fuel her. To drive herself towards her future. Greed was a sin and so was beauty. Both of which Candy and Soojin possess. A part of her always wondered how far were they alike. Just how much of Candy was reflected on Soojin.
Looking at her was like watching herself in a different body and yet the same life.
There was the will to keep going and the fear of not being able to stay afloat while the rest continued to move on with the flow of time. Their recent conversation struck her. The question “What would you like to tell your past self?” always sounded silly to Candy. Simply because she would probably try not to tell herself anything. There’s too much to take and so much to learn. But looking at Soojin, the question gets louder inside her head. What would present day Candy tell the Candy of yesterday if she could ever tell her anything?
Where would she even begin? Would she end up terrifying herself more by carrying the burden of knowledge of her own future? There was so much she’d love to say but as her thoughts continue to get complicated, she sought a breath of fresh air and with a clear mind, she was able to untangle her messed up thoughts. “Everything will work out in the end.” She would like to tell herself that. Repeatedly if she has to. It’s something she learned to believe in after going through things.
It’s something she wants Soojin to understand and believe in.
Candy knows better than anyone else that she’s not the person that one should seek guidance for but if anything, she’s dealt with things in life she’s not sure people would be able to go through or understand, just as she knows there are things in life only certain people can go through. Battle upon battle, that’s what’s in store for everyone who pushes forward on this adventure they call life. Candy simply wants Soojin not to make the same mistakes she did before but she doesn’t want to interfere with the decisions that the young girl chooses in her life. Still, she wants to be a sort of guidance for her.
This doesn’t make her a hero and she’s not aiming to be one. She’s just trying to be a better person. The world is fucked up in more ways than one already and she’s not a saint that deserve a limousine ride to heaven in the long run, but she wants to offer some light and guidance to those people who have lit up the way for her.

for someone who initially never wanted to become an idol, hyeju had a lot of people who looked up to her. it was surprising because she never saw herself as a person who could possibly act as a mentor. perhaps it was because she didn’t dream of this life, and she came in with zero expectations, but she could usually see through a lot of the trainees. she could tell which ones would end up staying and succeeding and which would burn out way too early and lose all their passion before even getting a chance in the spotlight.
soojin was one of those cases. one of the stars that she could tell was burning out too fast to the point where she wouldn’t last for a debut. hyeju recalls telling her to bring it down and stop viewing everybody as simply competition. while the industry was competitive, the same trainees could potentially be future group members which meant the toxic attitude needed to go away. from her memory, the younger female wasn’t too fond of the advice she never asked for, but soojin’s matured now and was even brave enough to tell her thanks from time to time. not often, of course, as it would hurt her ever so glowing pride.
“you taking care of yourself? byungchul is pushing you girls to the max. i would say enjoy it while it lasts, but i know firsthand that it can get really tiring.”
Samsoo’s eyes watched as a fish swam across the glass of the large tank in the middle of the aquarium. It was actually a little peaceful being at the aquarium, watching the fish and all of the other sea creatures swim in what was supposed to impersonate their natural habitats. It was sad knowing that they were taken away from their homes, but in some cases it was for the best. Captivity did help save some species from going extinct, and it helped replenish species that were on the brink of extinction. It just must have sucked being trapped behind glass all day and not really being able to come and go as you pleased. In a way, he could relate to the fish. Being stuck and subject to judgment by everyone else. That was the life of an idol. He glanced to the side when someone moved in his peripheral, his eyes immediately recognizing them. “You enjoying the view too?”
