Publisher Flyhigh Works and developer Secret Character have will release a Switch version of cat photography casual adventure game Neko Odyssey on July 30, the companies announced.

Neko Odyssey first launched for PC via Steam on December 16, 2024.

Neko Odyssey is a game for cat lovers you can’t miss! Here’s a slightly unusual casual adventure game where the main gameplay centers around taking pictures of cats. The pixel art graphics in a 3D setting create a charming atmosphere reminiscent of Japanese animation. In the game, you’ll have to search for cats in various locations throughout the town and take pictures to upload to social media (in game). Each photo you upload will earn likes from netizens. As you receive more likes, you’ll become better known, and your followers may offer tips on finding new and different cat poses.

During the cat photography sessions, some cats may require you to establish a connection with them before allowing you to photograph them. You’ll also encounter certain events that will lead you to discover new photo opportunities. Apart from taking cat photos and sharing them on social media, the game features a main storyline where you’ll unravel the mysteries of the town based on the information you capture in your cat photos. You’ll experience excitement, cuteness, and inspiration along with the adventure in this game.

I’ve enjoyed all three of the Witch and Hero games that have been released for the 3DS so far, but the first has always been my favorite.

Speaking of which, the first Witch and Hero title will hit the Nintendo Switch eShop on March 21 carrying a price tag of $4.99/€4,99/¥500.

Here’s why Flyhigh Works is cool ⊟ 

Last week, Japanese developer/publisher Flyhigh Works did a Nintendo Direct-style video called Flyhigh Express, for the Japanese market. Most of the time, when this stuff happens, we have to wait until a specific Western announcement to know if we’d ever see any of these games.

But Flyhigh Works/CIRCLE Entertainment actually sent us this video, with a list of announcements relevant to North America and Europe. So I don’t have to do an uncertain post!

Announcements include a Switch Fairune collection, including Fairune 1 and 2 and some new things called Fairune Origin and Fairune Blast, out in May; a Switch release of the tower defense game Samurai Defender, also in May; a storybook-style music game called Lanota; and three more Deemo song packs.

Publisher Flyhigh Works and Shinobi non Grata developer Studio PICO have announced The Scramble Vice, a new side-scrolling 2D robot action game coming to PC via Steam in 2024.
