•☾ Bʟᴇᴀᴋ. Cᴏʟᴅ. Dᴀʀᴋ. The building was old, the architecture fascinating if it were being visited during other circumstances. What had happened was a blur, only bits and pieces of it slipped into her mind in flashes and then faded just as quickly. Her parents had giving up on her, tossed her away, they’d spoken words of love to her but she did not believe them. There was no way they could love her if they were sending her to this dungeon.
Cold hands held her arm firmly as they walked down one of the many corridors lined with metal doors. Each room holding some monster, some discarded member of society. She could hear the whispers, cold eyes watching from the shadows behind the small bared windows. It made her uneasy and she shifted her head back and forth until they pushed their way through two double doors. There music played echoing off the walls mixing with the ramblings of those lost in their own mind.
The cold grip of two staff members released and she was let go to wonder this open common room alone. It was as cold and uninviting as the rest of the building, the random aged furniture, small wooden tables with basic games of chess or cards strewn across its top. Looking from one person to the next she shuffled her way to the couch and sat down. To her right sat a boy with blond messy waves, his face not as cold as the others. Perhaps that was just because his youth shown through where others here were far older and aged. With hesitation she called over to him softly, “what is this place? They wouldn’t tell me, my parents just said it was some kind of hospital. That I needed to get better, which is completely bullshit. There isn’t anything wrong with me.” ☾•
