What the actual fuck am I getting myself into, lmao.
Why was it set up to pull slots 1/3/4???? It should be 1/3/5 OR 2/3/4, right???? Am I tripping?? Set up like this, it feels like it's gonna whammy just the coiled strings, rather than the solid strings. Which, is a valid choice someone can make, but not how I would want to play? I don't think? I gotta figure out how to move those without taking out an eye lmao.
Actually!!!! The pull direction might even be fucking backwards, it should be shaped like "<" not ">". No wonder it feels so unstable!!!! It's literally pivoting when I move the whammy. The top and bottom springs have to move if I want them angled. Fuck my life. Glad I just noticed that before I sat down again. (Really helps to walk away from difficult things. I am an expert at doing that lol.)
Why, father?? Did you get it in this condition?? Or did you set it up crooked and backwards on purpose??
So many fucking issues with this guitar! And I don't even know firsthand how to set up the whole floating bridge nonsense, and even I can see there's so much work to be done!! I definitely ain't tuning this thing tonight. I was just gonna reuse the strings temporarily as practise, but no, they're too far gone at the ends (even if I trimmed them, they just don't feel spry enough to handle it). I'm gonna have my hands full polishing literally every screw on this thang bc they're all rusted.
I should've figured this out years ago when I got it, but I'm probably in a better headspace to do it now, just ughh. Lemme go get the fucking Dremel, and sand off my fingers polishing off the rust. I'll fucking fix this thing. But I'm doing it while shaking my fist.
