As evening gives way to dusk, Suigetsu sits alone in the garden, a fur-lined cloak draped over her shoulders like a second skin, tied with a white ribbon at the front. The winter chill gnaws at the edges of the fabric, but she doesn't flinch — though her fingers, reddened and trembling, betray her illusion of indifference. She rubs them together beneath the plush warmth, more out of habit than need. Her gaze rises to the sky, tracing constellations mindlessly. Tomorrows duties linger in her mind : schedules, returning sorties, the endless obligations she's resigned herself to, an undeniable reality.
Just as she finds herself pondering on meals for the next day, a crash suddenly rings out within the crisp air. Not distant, not muffled, but close enough to make her breath catch for but a moment. Turning slowly, the camellias remain undisturbed, cloaked in snow and fringed with frost. As the winds shift, a voice comes — low, mumbled, disappearing into the darkness.
Rising from the bench, geta pressing soft prints into the powder beneath her. Perhaps it was a prank, or even an animal of sorts. Despite the slight concern plaguing her thoughts, feet carry her towards the edge of the forest just past the garden, eyes scanning the incoming darkness with concern.
"..Hello?" Her voice is gentle, almost inviting, "...I'm not upset, though that fall sounded rather harsh... I'd just like to make sure you're alright, if you'll show yourself..." With bated breath, she awaits a response.
