Two humans past him as he walked the streets of Karakura Town. A man and woman, whether they were a couple, siblings or just good friends he didn't know. The woman was energetic and cheerful, the man cool, calm and collected. It reminded the fallen Espada of him and Lilynette. "Lilynette, where are you...?"

Visiting the barracks of the 4th division wasn't something Miyuki would do often until as of recently. Once the dust had settled after Aizen's betrayal and everything slowly starter returning to how it used to be, the lieutenant of the 7th division had found herself visiting it more often than she used to before, mainly because of Hinamori. Though the two have never been particularly close, there was somehow an unspoken guilt in her heart. Momo too was a victim of Aizen but her fate was... much worse. For now as far as Miyuki knew, Momo stayed unconscious while other shinigamis would tend to her wounds, slowly recovering. Entering the room Momo was resting in, Miyuki's irises found themselves drawn to a shinigami male, curiosity gleaming in their depths.

❝ How is she doing? ❞

As often the case, the taller man didn't look up from the perplexing case before him. Most people outside the immediate people he worked with and the head captain, never realized he was blind with the way he moved about. He ran his fingers over the raised bumps on the paper that detailed the injuries and afflictions to the smaller soul before him. It troubled him that it seemed her once bright, peach colored reiatsu was stained with the deep royal purple of the former captain's shikai. This may not have been diagnosed by his superiors, but he also had an ability that most didn't.

The sound of another in the room slightly startled him as he looked over at the golden aura of the 7th division's lieutenant, something that always gave him difficulty looking at due to the resonance with almost all other reishi around her. He gave her a soft bow, with a very gentle and warm smile.

"Kurobane-fukutaichou, welcome. Apologies for not saying anything when you came in." He said as he stood back up, still with eyes perpetually closed. He tried to keep composure, though it was difficult when he was caught off guard by visitors. "Momo-fukutaichou will physically recover in time. As for any emotional or mental damage from the battles and betrayal, those won't be able to be found until she's strong enough to stay out of sedation. I promise that we are giving the best care we possibly can, but one of the few things we don't want to do is rush treatment. Especially since it's unsure how she will react once she's awake."

Itachi Uchiha, a man certainly cursed with the most unfortunate events has recently found himself in a place which wasn't heaven, nor hell, but a place called the Soul society. But even so, it didn't feel much different from the place he once resided at. This place had it's own unique past, own conflicts and all of that gave him a hope, a choice to lead a new life this time and take the right paths which he didn't in his past life. Hence, ever since his academy years, he showed much competence. Not only did he passed the Shin'ō academy with ease but besides that he didn't fail to study up on the past of this new environment either.

During one of his knowledge hunt sessions, he stumbled upon some information regarding a certain "Kurobane" clan and even though the history of the soul society itself was rather interesting, there was something that caught his eye after the whispers he heard and the things he read about this certain clan. The more he heard, the further he dug in, not just out of curiosity but something just didn't click right. It's as if the history that once branded his fate was repeating itself but with someone else as it's puppet this time.

Eventually, he was assigned to the 5th division of the Gotei 13 and things only got interesting from there further when Sosuke Aizen turned out to be the captain. Ever the keen observer he was, accompanied by his sharp instincts and past experience, he never was too trusting of the man. And finally when the time came, he certainly wasn't proven wrong. Not just about Aizen, but the Kurobane clan too. Miyuki, possibly the last surviving member, was now manipulated by this very man who once hid his true self under the guise of a caring captain. It reminded him of how he was once manipulated by Danzo but this? This was even worse than what he been through. He has heard of her in the past: the central 46 trial, her capabilities and now it made perfect sense why Aizen seeked her.

Later, after the climactic battle when the dust settled and the news regarding Aizen being sealed off was confirmed, Itachi took advantage of this opportunity to finally pay Miyuki a visit. He knew how it could've possibly felt, not only was she herself manipulated but so was him himself and the entire 5th division who once served under him. ❝ I know how you feel, I've been through something similar. I relate. But with time you've to learn to let it go, or it tears you apart from the inside out.❞ It wasn't a lecture, or an advice but facts. Facts he experienced first hand and felt the consequences on. A fate he doesn't want someone else to fall prey for.

❝ Hm? ❞

Surprised hum slips from woman’s lips as she feels a slight buzz of her phone. Who exactly was texting her at this time? It’s not like she had been expecting any messages so that surely had taken her by surprise. Curiously, her hand makes it’s way inside the pocket of shinigami’s shihakusho, checking for a phone. There it is! Finally her fingers find themselves wrapped around it as she proceeds to take it out, slender digit moving to unlock the screen of her phone.

One message has been waiting for her, how curious. Miyuki’s sharp irises analyse the message, word by word until everything becomes perfectly clear to her. That message wasn’t really meant for her, it was meant for her fellow shinigami - Rukia. Confused thoughts started clouding her mind. Though she wasn’t supposed to be the receiver of this message, she felt it wouldn’t be right to just sit and do nothing, especially since Rukia wasn’t anywhere to be found. Of course Miyuki wasn’t doubting Ichigo and his skills and yet… there was still a small pang of concern forming in her heart and so, she decided to dial his number almost immediately.

The  phone  buzzes  against  his  palm.  Ichigo  nearly  drops  it  on  reflex,  hand  tightening  around  the  device  before  he  fumbles  the  answer.  He  didn’t  think  she  would  actually  call  back  this  fast.  Especially  not  when---

He  checks  the  screen.  Not  when...  not  Rukia.

               "...Shit."

A  low  exhale  and  then  he  swipes  to  answer.  "Yeah.  Uh.  You’re...  not  who  I  meant  to  call."  His  voice  stays  even,  a  little  rough  from  the  cold  air  in  the  cellar.  He  shifts  against  the  wall,  trying  not  to  knock  over  whatever  ancient  bottles  are  stacked  around  him.  "Look—everything’s  fine.  Mostly.  Definitely  not  an  emergency.  Wrong  number.  You  really  don’t  need  to  come  running  or  anything."
