Headcannon that Damian has the separation anxiety from being dropped off by Talia
His love language is gifting and often he gives small gifts to his family members weekly, anywhere from sketches he made to appreciation letters veiled as vaguely threatening notes. Once tim received a note from Damian saying “be careful..” and he was paranoid for a month.
He feels uncomfortable going out to places or social events without someone he knows so he always has someone on speed dial, a pack of anxiety meds, and a piece of cloth that smells like Richard which was given to him after his first time having a panic attack during a gala where they found out dicks cologne was the only thing helping him ground himself.
Eventually when he gets to know others like Jon and becomes more comfortable with them he passes on similar behaviors with them. After every patrol Damian buys Jon icecream, he makes sure to tell Nika that he said appreciates her company every time they meet (a high compliment from him), and he always goes on adventures with Maps whenever he has the time.
Everyone thinks he does this because of random strokes of kindness or something but Damian actually is just scared that if he doesn’t do something for them every so often they’ll leave him and when they hear this from him they give him as many cuddles and reassurances as possible and Bruce gives him a one way ticket to a psychiatrist (much to Damian’s dismay)
It’s not perfect and Damian still definitely has his worries but he’ll be okay because now he has like a bagillion people by his side to stand with him.
