Whisky Runners......cars that were modified to carry White Lightning, better known as Moonshine. Evading the Federal ‘revenooers’,These cars roared though the night all over the Appalachian states carrying their illegal loads to thirsty patrons. The top car is a 1940 Ford flathead V8, an actual working car, modified to carry 100 gallons ( 830 pounds !) of hooch. That model was very popular because it had lots of power with a bit of motor tweaking and a big load capacity, (with added springs). The bottom car was found in a barn a few weeks ago and just what you need to build your own Whisky Runner. Nice!
