One of the things I love the most about the Disability Pride Flag is not only the overarching inclusivity of disabled groups, but the unwavering acknowledgement of those who have been affected by ideations, attempted, and/or fatal suicide. Regardless (but not exclusive of) physical or mental ability, there are a variety of factors that can contribute to suicidality, which can be disabling in itself. This is an experience, like many other experiences of disability, that can leave the afflicted feeling compounded isolation when met with improper support. So, as society works toward destigmatizing suicidality, strong conversations surrounding accommodations and beneficial aid for suicidality is crucial; this is why we must take a strong stance against any form of encouragement or suicide baiting -- of anyone, for any reason, without exception.

Kindness is never a mistake, but always a choice.
