Minecraft SMP Concept: Five Alive
Okay, so with the members of the Last Life SMP managing to kill the Wither taking only minimal casualties, I think the time’s right to toss out this idea I’ve had bouncing around for awhile. Introducing:
The rules are as follows:
Five players. Five lives each. And five respawns each.
That’s right, five respawns. After you use up your last life, you come back one final time, but as a zombie/undead/ghoul/whatever you want to call it.
Now, the goal of everyone not out of lives is simple: summon the Wither and kill it. But once you run out of lives, things change drastically. First, your gamemode is updated to peaceful. Mobs will no longer attack you. Secondly, your goal is now to kill one of the remaining alive players...and steal their life.
If you fail, you’re out of the SMP. You succeed, you get one more respawn added back onto your counter and are no longer hostile to players. Mobs will once again attack you. Killing another undead will not give you any of these effects.
The SMP ends when either the Wither is beaten, or one player is left standing.
If five players sounds like too few, you can theoretically bump it up to Nine Alive, but for a first time run I recommend only five players.
Will it work? Who knows. But I’d like to see someone try.
