Meet @joelchristianlifts I’m Joel & I’ve been over weight ever since I was a kid. I had no knowledge about nutrition or exercise. I ate pretty much anything that was placed in front of me and had no control. I hit 300 lbs and I was always out of breath. I started suffering from chest pains and sleep apnea. My 1st attempt was successful and got my weight down from 300 to 220 lbs w/ exercise and cutting out carbs from my diet. I joined the military in 06 and I was taught discipline and it was required of us to PT (Physical Training) 3 times a week and usually consisted of running long distances. It was a good way to make sure that I met height and weight standards. In 10’, I got out & my discipline went out the door with it. I disregarded my health and stopped working out. I hit 300 my heaviest of 310 lbs. I started to suffer from back aches and knee pains from the extra weight. In 19’ I changed my eating habit and started to exercise again. I’m at 255 lbs which is 54 lbs lost since the new year. It is rough starting over again and it is very frustrating at times not seeing results fast enough. There are many times that I cheated on my diet and almost quit but seeing my progress pics gave me motivation. I didn't put on all the weight in a week so I shouldn't expect to lose it in a week. I’m not done yet and I'm on my journey to a better health. Starting tip: Don't ever compare yourself to others. You have your own story and you will have your own progress. Be patient and trust the process. ________________ How has the Wlstories community influenced your journey? Answer: @wlstories influenced my journey by seeing others improve on their overall health.
