Everyone here has made me feel so welcome and inspired over the years, and I hope I can continue to enjoy arts, writing and all different kinds of ttte content! It’s nearing the end of the year too, and the show itself had an anniversary recently. So let’s keep that fire alive! It’s been apparent but I do love me a bit of duck and diesel interacting like civilised friends/work partners. This is also a first look at my beta humanised Diesel design! In my humanised and au take on the iconic duo these guys feed off the fact they use to have a long running rivalry in the past. Diesel reformed himself and duck apologised for -kinda maybe sorta being an asshole when they first met-.
Duck is nicknamed ‘Duckie’ (based off Stories of Sodor)
They get a kick out of pretending to fight and insult each other, then go down to the local bar and chat for hours. Then maybe something else happens with their relationship idk right now I’m just testing the waters of their potential dynamic.

I have so many leftover layers of this guy’s different hairstyles it’s a blessing and curse that I managed to find ONE ONLY 😭😭😭
Anyhoo under all that festive fluff Theo is actually a mix between an inverted triangle and hourglass in terms of body type (With a lil belly he can’t get rid of, of course). He had to compensate somehow for that massive tender and sleek but bulky front. He owns so many diamond/pearl accessories that James could get jealous, and the fluffiest coat you’ve ever seen is casually on his shoulders. THIS IS STRICTLY A WINTER COUTURE, I’ll try to get his work outfit done soon.
The special belt sash thing that I totally didn’t make up is like a heritage piece for his class. Every Mikado has one, not all wear it.
Elf ears were inspired by @kingdicemrwheezyflowertor ‘s very adorable version of human Theo you can find here! And one of the sketches below features an unfinished @ghostbellies rook 💗

Gideon belongs to @ttte-tugscrowskullausmainblog ! Thankyou so much for letting me design a boy to hold Gids close and protect him forever 🥺💗💗💗 I’ll eventually be posting more info about Claude but for the moment I’m just happy I didn’t take months to settle on a design
For reference, on the left is his first facial features and hair I wanted to end up sticking with. And the right is his engine basis, Joffre! An adorable little French artillery commission that worked in a quarry and I want to pet his boiler for doing such a good job. (And may or may not be irl friends with Peter Sam)
I ended up going green for his blazer instead of the previous black or grey I put on him as a subtle nod to how the two characters compliment each other. Since Gideon’s main pop of colour is purple, I went opposite to it. A very broody duo in terms of pallet lmao but these guys are literally puzzle pieces that shouldn’t theoretically fit together but they did anyway out of spite 😤
For now; Claude acts as an emotional support narrow gauge engine for Gideon as they both work around the blue mountain quarry. He’s originally tasked with simple things to do and say, but eventually dropped all of his requirements and fell for the big guy romantically. This is just the beginning for them, anything could and will happen! He also wants to be famous one day. Reach high little steamie you’ll get there.
He’s French and fluently speaks the language. His English is good but not professional, so if he messes up a certain saying or word he won’t bother correcting himself and will say the wrong thing till the end of time.
If Theo is a silver and diamond boy, Claude is all about the gold baby. He has a high fashion sense and expensive taste. However, when he passes by windows or mirrors he seems to speed walk by them.
