seeing a picture of a fish/mermaid and my brain is split into “teehee pretty fishy!!” And “FUCK that should’ve been ME, it’s not FAIR”
On a serious note: I think the reason I’m an Otherkin, and the feeling I’ve had of not being human or faking being a person is mostly affected by me being autistic, feeling like you have to put on a performance to be treated as a human. (then on one hand I don’t even identity fully as being human/humanity so decisions decisions…) I personally don’t Otherkin out of spirituality (like a belief in past life’s or reincarnation), but because the way my brain thinks and I experience life is like a mermaid crawling out of water and trying to blend in with humans, they resemble a human and can act like one reasonably, but will always desire to go back to the tides where they belong and can be who they really are, and feel wildly out of place around people.
They’ll eventually have to go back to the sea no matter how long they want to stay and blend in.
This is who has been running the blog the past few days btw

Despite my kinship with this breed of goldfish I am aware of ethical issues that surround the breed; I do not support unethical breeding.
I yearn for cold fresh water to dip myself into, I want to be submerged

Niche Kin Appreciation Challenge, day three
The prompt is: “Share 5 fun facts about your kin!”
Zygorhiza are fairly close whale ancestors, but they evolved from Indohyus, a land mammal that also branched off into modern day deer!
Trees communicate with each other via mycorrhizal networks—Chains of fungi in the soil!
Outside of science, the Loch Ness monster is sometimes thought to be a plesiosaur that survived millions of years unchanged!
Plants can see light, direction, colors (including colors that humans cannot see), and a lot of other stuff! Although, it’s not believed that plants can see complex images like humans do.
Humans are very unusual animals. Most invertebrates (which make up 97-99% of all animal species) are aquatic. Even most vertebrates are fish!
Being a fish otherkin and eating fish food feels extremely wrong. Idc sushi is too tasty for me to care
