Iβm definitely behind the game, but itβs my first time reading The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes currently.
Iβve just started it (Iβm in chapter three), as I finished rereading the original Hunger Games Trilogy yesterday in my preparation for the cinematic debut of Sunrise. (I havenβt read it yet either! I feel like a fake fan)
Iβve been hesitant to read it because President Snow is justβ¦ such an evil and unlikable character.

I feel like all of the missions are sailing just a little too smoothly for it all to end up well. I cant decied if I think all the missions will end up failing at the literal last second or if the missions will end up well and the contest will be the thing that fucks it all up

after reading the first three books, i am STUNNED at how beautiful God of Ruin is??? God of Fury is still hands down my favorite (since its the reason im even reading the rest of the series) but after being icked out by the first books, iβm so pleasantly surprised by how well written the fourth one is in terms of relationship building and both characters understanding each other in an equilibrium rather than one person overpowering another. i love their banter and how much Landon compliments Mia and how they both balance each other out like itβs not JUST possessiveness/wanting to own the person to the point you stop seeing them as a person who has a mind of their own. itβs so cute how they both make a home out of the haunted out and go on dates and the fact that Landon learns empathy in order to be more present for Mia. iβm just soooo pleasantly surprised and happy that this read actually feels nice!
