first time doing a comic. Kind of nervous.
Nexus #34 - July 1987, cover by Steve Rude.
Warp #11 - March 1984, cover by Jerry Bingham + Mike Gustovich.
Can you give us a list of characters you think can be/are transgender, these are important discussions
I've tried to rank these in order of "Is basically canonically trans" to "Absolutely is not trans but like, wouldn't it be a fun thought experiment" but the order isn't perfect and obviously it's subjective. Okay here we go.
1) Wanda Langkowski is canonically a trans woman, Marvel just forgot.
2) Okay obscure pull but Jon Sable's girlfriend Mike is like, commented upon to be very tall, lives with her gay best friend, her name is fucking Mike and when we meet her father he insists he only has one daughter and he apparently made that decision a few years ago for reasons Mike won't say. In conclusion, transgender.
3) Vision I truly believe just makes more sense as a transfeminised non-binary lesbian, the way in which the legacy of men (Simon and Jim) are constantly used as the pinnacle of achieving personhood, Vision literally being told to use Simon's name and choosing instead to keep the more androgynous Vision, relationships with women being the thing that affirm a sense of personhood and humanity, I dunno I just don't think I'm crazy it's so real to me.
4) I can't find it right now but Elsa Bloodstone trans coding real
5) Squirrel Girl could be made a trans girl tomorrow and I wouldn't blink. Computer programmer + very queer inner circle + fixation on an animal sounds like multiple trans women I know
6) I like the Rogue trans girl coded post a lot that belongs here also
7) Okay getting into maybe but probably not territory. Heather Hudson transmasc butch would answer some questions I think but isn't a given. She should get top surgery regardless I think tho.
8) Cloak and Dagger could be T4T and I would be happy with it in either form. Transfemme Tandy and transmasc Ty would work and so would transmasc Tandy and transfemme Ty. Their co-dependent bond feels very baby trans people latching on to one another and I think you could easily interpret them as being trans in either direction.
9) Give Kitty Pryde testosterone it wouldn't fix her it would probably make it worse but let's do it anyway. Something to be said about the complicated relationship with femininity and other women she has + you could easily rework the Piotr thing as a desire to be that kind of large masculine yet nurturing presence. I dunno. It could work.
10) Reed Richards being trans is mostly made up, there is something there in the way being a leader is a very patriarchal role that Reed feels obligated to be but isn't necessarily fulfilled in that role, but also I just think Reed should be a woman because I think it would be an improvement in many ways.
11) This one is complicated. I personally interpret Hank Beast's complex relationship with gender performance as more of a disability thing when your appearance rapidly de-genders you in the eyes of others and he has to work really hard to affirm his gender and perform it for acceptance but I can really easily see how other people interpret him as trans even if I don't ascribe to it.
12) I recognise Banshee probably isn't trans but like... naming yourself after a female mythological figure is kind of crazy. And I think we need more Irish trans women milfs in comics.
13) Getting into some real making shit the fuck up territory. I don't think this is true but I think it would be fun to imagine Janet van Dyne as a femme gay trans man and almost nothing about her design changes.
14) Johnny Storm could get a little nonbinary with it. If he grew a mullet plus the moustache? I see nonbinary people like that all the time.
15) Airboy from Airboy could be a trans man. Chuck Dixon wouldn't like it but why did he make that guy so short and into loud patterned button up shirts.
There's definitely more that I'm missing but I figure 15 is a solid list. If anyone wants to drop their thoughts please feel free 🤔👂

Hello! This is ODE, and this is my blog for a comic I'm making called "VIENNA PROJECT", which is inspired by murder drones. (Yes, another blog)
The comic will bring us many characters within it, the main characters being Lister and Eliza, a human and a prototype robot living in a outside planet called VENISUM-A118 in their mission to find Lister's father who was mysteriously kidnapped, Novan.
Along their way, they will meet new people and companions to go along and help them, each one with their own intentions.
However, not everything is safe. Of course, there's still a chance of a certain being watching over each step...
That's what I have to say for now, thank you for reading :P
