Prince died on 4/21/16. I walked around after I found out, numb. Being from Minnesota, he was part of us. I was born when Purple Rain came out. Like... He was always there.

I had to go to an event for work in Minneapolis that evening. There was a storm around sunset and as I drove into the city, with Prince blasting on every radio station, the sky was purple.

First Ave had a dance party, people were all over the streets. It was beautiful and sad, and comforting.
