So I’m obsessed with k-pop demon hunters (as we all are) and I of course was thinking about Yugioh.
As I listened to Free and thinking about Jaden and Jesse. And started playing with the idea of the protagonist being the Saja boys then @kiyouzummd realized a video of the protagonist as the Saja boys and now I gotta do it.
Jinu is Jaden/Judai. Haunted by his prior life.
Rumi is Jesse mixture of good and bad (crystal Protector and Crystal Vagabond)
But what about the rest of Huntrix and the Saja boys.?This is where I run into problems.
I like the idea of the protagonists as the Saja boys. But which ones?
I’m putting Yusei as Abby. Physically the strongest of the group.
If he is Abby and Abby (and Romance) are shipped with Mira.
Aki/Akiza is Mira. The intense one.
Mystery is Yusaku. The only protagonist with a secret identity.
For Romance I’m feeling Yuya. As he is the showman out of the protagonists.
For Baby I have two options
I’m thinking for Gwi-ma doing Atem. The head of the protagonist.
This means Baby can either be;
Yugi - the smallest seems sweet but hits like a truck
Yuma. Then all the Saja boys are from spinoff series.
Zoey is the big problem.
With Yusaku as Mystery, you could pick on of his ships. But I’m in multishipping hell when it comes to him.
Ryoken?
Takeru?
Aoi/Skye? - a duel idol the yugioh equivalent of an idol
You could also pull Yuya’s love interest
Zuzu - also a performer and younger then the other two members of the Huntrix team
If you pick Yugi for Baby you could also pick Someone from DM.
Seto Kaiba in this is hilarious but I don’t think he matches Zoey’s energy
Teá would be fun but again I don’t think she’s a Zoey.

considering aiball/firestorm with dm s0 scenarios bc tbh i think they could be fun there. like for firestorm i imagine it being like the very first one...except the protag has a buddy who. has fought off gangs before. takeru is going to cheerily tell ushio that sounds like a protection racket, we're not interested thanks! and if he escalates then that is going to be the exxact second yusaku learns oh we know how to fight. like irl. something that i imagine we walk off the impact of after dropping ushio in seconds
aiball is for. listen i think you could have some fun balancing the two sides of the ship. like the fun silly daily life with. how well i think ai would handle someone threatening yusaku. we are not going to be graceful about it (and then there can be. time afterwards to calm down. yes we may have ripped a guy's conscoiusness data out right then and there but you were in danger and we need time to process that's no longer the case)
