y’all. you must understand that misogyny and misandry both exist. wait no, keep reading! do not jump to conclusions based on this sentence. you must understand that misogyny exists at a systemic level that misandry does not, but that this doesn’t erase the personal hatred or distrust of men/masc people that some people have! whether or not you see this as a problem, by definition, it is misandry.
transmisogyny and tranmisandry are taking these root words, very basically meaning hatred of or negative bias towards women/men, and adding the trans- prefix in order to create specific words to describe hatred of or negative bias towards trans women and trans men.
so much discourse on this is just completely nonsensical to me, because there isn’t shared understanding of what these words actually mean. transmisogyny and transandrophobia both exist, and are both specifiers under transphobia. yes they carry connotations based on the environments they exist in, and yes it is possible for their systemic bases to be different (not taking a stance on that here), but they both exist and are both important words to describe experiences of discrimination.
you can support palestine and palestinian people without denying jewish and israeli heritage btw. we’ve also been documented being in israel for thousands of years, but that doesn’t give israel the right to bomb and force people out of their homes. denying our history doesn’t help anyone. stop demonizing jews in the process of advocating for palestinians, please and thank you
