Star searched each table for her favorite food, corn. All banquets practically required a dish of corn, at least all banquets she ever went to. Of course all the food set out looked and smelled amazing, but she really had her heart set on at least ten cobs of corn. Her search led her to weave through the other guests, mind set on one thing until she noticed a familiar face that wasn’t exactly expressing a good time. Perhaps because he had no company?

Putting a pause on her search for now, Star grabbed a cupcake off the wide table of pastries and practically jumped right into Keith’s bubble, holding the cupcake up in his face. “Hey there birthday boyyyy!” She chimed in a sing-song voice, smiling brightly up at him. 

“I grabbed this for you! Cause it’s your birthday! Or.. going to be, honestly I don’t remember what day you said it was but I do remember that you need to celebrate it! Take the cupcake... take it..”

        “You’re acting strange, Black.” The Paladin murmurs within the cockpit of the mechanical lion, the size nothing in comparison of its original. But it was better than nothing, right? His fingers grip on the controls and attempt to maneuver the lion elsewhere, but it didn’t budge at all. “You.. want me to go this way? Alright, I trust you.” Shiro takes in a deep breath, allowing the lion to go in the direction it wanted. It led him out in the outskirts of sector five, where he would find a figure in the distance.

closer he got and it became more clear.

“Keith?” Eyes become wide as his mouth gapes in awe. How long it had been since he seen a member of the Paladins walk these very same grounds? Too long if he was honest. The man slides out of the lion and approaches the other with open arms.

He raises his camera to look through the lens as he positions to take yet another picture--but the face of someone familiar immediately catches his eye. "...Keith?" 

It's definitely him, he'd recognize that bracelet on his wrist anywhere; it was something he'd given him a long while ago. Stunned, yet relieved, Prompto pockets his camera and gets up from where he's sitting. Hurriedly, he pushes past the few people that blocked his way until he's able to tap Keith's shoulder. "Hey! Keith...! You, uh," Never one to have been good with words, especially in situations like this, he fumbles for a moment before breaking out into a smile. "You really stood me up back there, didn't you?"

  content is what the Eternal feels, high in the Ophiuchus Tree and overlooking the island from a vantage point that would awe just about anyone. she felt no such fear being so high up in the sky. it didn’t matter if her feet were planted firmly on something or if she was hovering above the clouds: there was nothing to fear up above. one could see any and everything and there were many times back home where Song simply took the view in, memorizing each little detail she could make out. better than a photograph, it was. and even if she could not make out everything with as much clarity and sharpness as before, she was not going to deny what beauty she could see.

     “ It’s a shame the island doesn’t make use of sky ships. With the advancements I’ve seen here, it doesn’t seem that far out of the realm of possibility. I wonder why they don’t.... “

"Hey, do we know each other or somethin'? I'm just...confused. Woke up and only had your name to go by. We're friends, aren't we?" At least, he hopes so, considering the text conversations on this phone were plentiful.

  her words are not meant to entirely dissuade the other from venturing forth into the ever swaying kelp leaves to see what lay within the forest. they were inviting and many did go inside to see what secrets it held. but most were lured by a song-- not entirely their fault, but it proves to have at least some caution when it comes to this place. the faunus didn’t know whether or not the other knew that, but she still figured the warning would do no harm.
