Ive been working on this book for over a year now and I’m so so proud to finally have it done. There’s a lot of stuff I could say about this bind but it mostly boils down to “holy shit I actually did it that’s so cool”

I’ll be so real, I’m so proud of this book. I had the chance to take a book arts class for school, and for my final project I decided to go ahead and do a fic binding. This book is one I’d had planned out for a while, and this was my chance to actually create it!!

You can’t see it super well in these pictures, but the edges of the book are painted! And they have stars! So you’ll just have to trust me when I say it looks really really cool.

Honestly this fic is very important to me just in general. When I was first playing ISAT I was told several times completely separate people that I desperately needed to read Natural Satellite as soon as I finished the game, and they were very much correct!

For the typesetting I really wanted to try and capture the energy of the game itself, which I think I was able to do pretty well!

The title page is based on the orbital path of tsuchinshan-atlas, aka the second moon that we had for a few months last year. It felt very fitting for the contents of the fic hehe!

These were actually made in collaboration with @campanellaes! She bound two other books in the series, Infected and Villain, which you can see right here!

A ton of work went into the typesetting for these. Especially for OSH. I don't have pictures of the final result, but I did so much math to calculate how quickly the moon was falling in s8 of hermitcraft. I got my astrophysicist cousin involved. It was awesome. If anyone wants to look at the spreadsheet let me know I think its cool.

These books were very much a labor of love from me. It's a bit hard to fully show how much work and time went into them, but trust me when I say it was a lot. We actually started these books so that we could work on them during the Renegade Retreat, which gives a bit of a sense of time woiersdfj. But I also got a ton of inspiration from the retreat, so I don't regret doing it that way even a little bit!!

Needless to say, I learned a ton working on them. It was my first time using HTV, my first time doing cutouts, and I even got to use silk thread for the endbands!!

Personally, I absolutely adore the paper and bookcloth combination on this bind. I got the cloth a while back for free and I’ve been waiting for a chance to use it, and then my friend Cam got me this paper as a gift! It seemed way too perfect to not use!

This was a very exciting bind, because it gave me the opportunity to try something completely new, gilded edges!!

Although it didn’t turn out perfect, I’m still super proud of how clean it ended up. Plus, I personally think the flaws make it better :D

The typesetting here was very exciting for me. A few months ago Ty held a tattoo contest for the fic, and I couldn’t not use them when I saw the two finalist designs. So I went ahead and contacted the artists, and they both said I could use them!!

This was actually a redo of my second ever binding, which you can find here, and it’s so cool to see how far I’ve come in my binding!!

I also tried something new with this one with the edge coloring, and I’m very proud of how it turned out! I used watercolor for it.

I also redid the typesetting while I was at it. The title page was drawn by @coffit0, because one of the copies was actually a gift for him!

Just finished my first fic for @renegadepublishing’s binderary!!! Today on the chopping block, this is about a stuffed bird, by @theminecraftbee!! I’ll be honest I started this project completely on a whim while waiting for paper to arrive, but I’m so so proud of the results.

This fic was a present for my wonderful roommate, @majestic-ruiqing, since I know it’s one of her favorites and wanted to do something nice for her!

The cover art was done by my friend @tea-with-veth, who sent me some art that she drew a while back so that I could use it.

For the technical side, I actually leaned how to chisel a textblock correctly!! So this book has some of the nicest edges I’ve ever done. Not to mention, this was my first time doing splattered edges, which turned out very nice. Also my first time making paperless bookcloth!

Behold!! My first ever tiny books!! Robin Hood and the Little Trickster, and Future Past!

Both these books are apart of the Future Past series by Enira, though Robin Hood and the Little Trickster is also written by cruellae :D

This project was actually a gift for my wonderful friend @totallynotpuri! Hi puri I love you!!

I’ll be entirely honest, these two were really difficult for me. For whatever reason I had a really hard time getting started, so I ended up putting off the project for months. But it’s ok, because I got it done eventually!

Both books feature some beautiful art by reveriesky, which is very very fun.

The big thing I’m proud about for this one is the contrast between the two. I really wanted them to stand out when side by side, hence why I chose the silver on black and black on white. They’re both part of a pair, not complete without the other :3c

This has always been one of my favorite fics of all time, and it only felt right that I had a copy of my own to put on my shelf. I did this one during late June of 2022.

This was my first time attempting both a sewn endband and trimming of my textblock, but I’m still very proud of it.

Another thing I love about this is the typesetting! I spent so long trying to make it as elegant and fancy as the actual vibes of the fic itself, and I’m still so damn proud of how it came out. Especially with the little 3 line poems that were in the summaries of each chapter
