What if these are hints to Fire Messages... (Matches=Fire and Hermes=Messenger)
(Im not sure if someone noticed this already...my apologies if this has been suggested alreadyπ€)
Christopher and/or Grace see James using the match to send a message to Jem and they decide to apply it to Kitβs own theories and invent fire messages...
I mean, the use of the matches hadnβt been fully explained in ChOG. It seems to have just been mentioned once and in passing and it might not really mean anything but the image of James holding a match made me ask βWHY A MATCH?β (It could be a Stele or a Cigar) Of all the things to be holding, why that?
