Sunday Gunday with Brownells employee Rebecca W who says "My favorite gun, for now, is my K31 Swiss. I love history and so I have a unique collection of guns that reflect that love. The K31 is often incorrectly referred to as the "Schmidt-Rubin," even though the rifle was actually designed and built years after both men were dead! Created by Waffenfabrik Bern Arms, the K31 was first issued to the Schweizer Armee in 1933 and left service in 1958. It is a unique design because the bolt pulls straight back instead of up and back. Another neat fact: these guns were issued to Swiss families during WWII, and sometimes you can find a slip of paper hidden under the butt plate with the name of the original family the gun was issued to. This dependable long-range rifle is fun to shoot and won’t break the bank on ammo."
