Featuring both Bronte and Fintan!!!

Assuming most of you have already seen Bronte’s design, here is Fintan’s!!

In this roleswap, I put great effort in keeping each character’s behavior, which you’ll read about in my next posts and fanfic!!

But in this drawing, precisely the one on the right side, we have Fintan’s side of the story, and some snippets of what happens next after Bronte’s demission from the Council, before the Neverseen’s creation.

As most of you already know, Fintan was a social butterfly as a Councillor, and I doubt that changed after Bronte got his ability forbidden. But unlike what Bronte lived in the actual Keeper books, fintan had actual reasons to worry. Not worrying about Bronte, no, he’s too self-centered for that. But for himself.

In this Au, the equivalent of the Everblaze incident, was Bronte trying to inflict other emotions than pain on 5 willing empaths.

But with his complicated childhood, he never was able to, even in canon.

So in this specific Au, he inflicted and inflicted on those empaths, frustrated with himself, times and times again, to the point that they all got their minds broken from the pain.

Which is why his ability got banished.

And that’s where Fintan worries. Because unlike Bronte, who never saw this coming, Fintan knows of the fear his ability creates in the elvin population. He knows he was the one with the most instable position after Fallon’s resignation. Which is why Bronte’s departure, aka the most serious and dedicated of all councillors, brings such worry in him.

But he hides it well from his coworkers, and so life goes on. Balls, and meaningless celebrations, all supposed to lift spirits, only manage to make him worry more about people’s opinions. He knows he can’t fight the masses, so he tries to please them. Borderline flirting, joking, charming anyone he can, in hopes of his ability getting overlooked in favor of his behavior.

But his brain is still stuck on Bronte’s departure, and what it means for him.

So, everytime he encounters someone with similar behaviors or qualities Bronte had, he spirals again.

That’s what I wanted to represent by drawing him dancing with a woman, that harbors the same symbols Bronte has on his clothes.
