Me and my Fine-Free Subcommittee team from the #NewJerseyLibraryAssociation’s Diversity & Outreach Section published a Fine-Free toolkit for libraries to consider making the move. I had a great time participating and collaborating with my subcommittee members on this very important issue. Some highlights: • All libraries that have been fine-free for some time have described the experience as positive. • Impacts to budgets are typically small to nonexistent. • 20% of libraries have seen an increase in circulation. • 38.1% of libraries have seen an increase in library card membership.
