Let’s call The Fine Bros bullshit what it is: it’s greed.

At the end of the day, we are all so upset, and disappointed because we, as an internet community have such faith in each other to be decent fucking people. What TFB have done is remind us all that YouTubers are no longer the genuine people sitting in front of their cameras in their bedrooms anymore--they’re corporations. Corporations are very good at being greedy, in fact that’s like their whole platform. 

The stunt that TFB have pulled has opened our eyes to the fact that the people we have watched, and rooted for since ‘08, ‘09 no longer have the same mindset that they did when this all started: which was to lift one another up on an platform that was accessible to anyone and everyone.

This new corporate mindset that many (mind you, not all) YouTubers have developed shows the grimy, greedy intentions behind their work, and it makes supporting them really difficult. 

It’s hard to have respect for creators that don’t seek to lift up other creators, but instead seek to use them as a means for profit--even when we KNOW how successful these creators already are.

It’s no longer a secret just how well YouTubers can do in their space, especially those that have building up a fanbase since the beginning, and the fact that people like TFB can’t stop at what they have but instead seek to take advantage of the future of YouTube is so saddening.
