He's a kind of teacher that any parent would want for his child. He's passionate about research into non-formal education. His books appear to be that boring kind of self-help-development books but only at first glance. At a deeper level, Sir Ken reveals a wisdom of inexhaustible force. "Finding your Element" is almost a conversational but practical handbook in which he presented himself in the same sincere and benevolent manner as he speaks. It shows us the pathways through which we can find professionally behavior patterns designed to help in finding career happiness. THE ELEMENT = HAPPINESS. It's useful if you accept the game, useless if you're lazy to go through the proposed exercises, with sometimes uncomfortable questions. What does it mean to be in your element? To do something that seems so natural to you that you have the feeling that you really are that thing. By revealing how passions connect with attitudes we can find out which is that thing that motivates us in life and what we can do to make it easier for us to access it. We need time and space for a real disconnection to help us gradually dive into inner self and 'discover ourselves'. "Discovering your Element is vital in order to understand who you are and what you're capable to be and to do in your life." He criticizes the universal education system that emphasizes the results of standardized tests that ridicules children's artistic talents. The goal is to be happy with what you are. Your way is unique, you can find out where it starts, not where it ends. If you really want to define a goal according to your passions and the potential that they involve, then this book can be a guide in this direction. Passion is more important than talent. Stay open to risks and to possiblities
“All quests involve risks and you can’t anticipate them all. They involve opportunities too and you can’t foresee all of those, either. You can only set a direction and take the first steps. You then need to stay open to risks and to possibilities and be wiling to respond to both. This is how the creative process works and how organic processes take their shape. Martin Luther King had just this in mind when he said, “Take the first step in faith. You don’t have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step.”

You’re not limited to one Element for life

Your starting point does not determine your eventual course of life
“If there’s one thing I would say to someone who wants to take the risk of doing what they love, it would be to learn to bear anxiety. It’s the price of allowing yourself to answer the question, “What’s next?” But paying that price can lead to a completely different level of fulfillment. (...) There can be risks in taking the high road to your Element. But there are other sorts of risks in ignoring the call of your spirit. If you know what your Element is, you can only ignore it by damping down the parts of you to which it appeals. The result can be a dull spiritual ache that holds you back where there should be an impulse of energy that drives your forward.
