And try as I might,

Words have always carried such a weight for me.

While the world screamed to pay attention to their actions,

I lingered in the silence.

I felt the weight of it on my chest;

Felt its fingers curl around my ribcage,

Ready to rip me in two-

Waiting to hear your voice again.

Desperate to understand the color of your blood,

And the way you whispered you loved me-

While watching the light fade from my eyes.

While the cold settled in my limbs.

I have made many excuses for many animals-

Humanity holds flaws in which I find beautiful.

Yet I never felt more admired than when you chose my body

To bury your blade into;

When you dripped your soul,

Bitter and earthy,

Over my lips

And made me swallow.

In shadows dark, where secrets lie, 

A heart once whole begins to cry. 

The mirror shatters, dreams decay, 

In silent wails, the soul's dismay.

A dance with flames, a siren's song, 

To soar so high, then plunge so wrong. 

The stars above, they seem so bright, 

Yet in their glow, the end's in sight.

A fragile mind, a fleeting sigh, 

A step too close to edge, to die. 

In echoes faint, the truth is clear, 

In self-made chains, we disappear.

At rock-bottom's depth, where hope is thin, 

A battle lost, a war within. 

In darkness deep, we find our fall, 

Yet in the void, we hear the call.

With trembling hands, we grasp the light, 

Through shadows thick, we start the fight. 

From depths so low, we rise anew, 

With strength regained, we break on through.

Finding our feet, after the fall, 

We climb the walls, we heed the call. 

With every step, the past we shed, 

Towards the dawn, where hope is led.

We fight for joy, through trials and pain, 

In every storm, we dance in the rain. 

And in the end, with hearts alight,
