A good article discussing goddesses and paganism to Mary of Catholicism is linked here.
The Madrians may have included much pseudohistory in their myth and faith, but there has been a long study within Mariology and early Christianity about the syncretism of pagan mystery cults and revered goddesses.
What do you actually know about the Virgin Mary? Who is this iconic figure who has attained such an exalted standing in religious circles?

In my spiritual journey I have found myself in a surprising place. I spent some time to contemplate and explore my spiritual practice on my own in a more personal and experimental way. I found that my practice was constantly changing and I started to feel like so much was unnecessary.. as a witch priestess I had so many procedures and words memorized for ritual.. my time spent working within a coven in this way was profound and important in my growth.. but now these practices have fallen away. My altar has become very minimalist when before I had many tools, jewels, and robes.. words. I have uncovered a profound silence within myself.. that which remains, that which is eternal. At my altar there is no depiction of Dea, there is a black mirror instead. I could never find the the right statue or image that seemed right to/for me.. but I felt an affinity for Dea Beyond Form. Something about this aspect of Dea called to me, felt so True to me.. held some Mystery out to me, just out of grasp.. so I pursued it.. and now there are no faces, no words to explain..
Can I still call myself a Filianist or Deanist? I don't know.. I still feel a love and at home with Filianism/Deanism/Madrianism.. but it feels like I've been away for a long time and have changed a lot. The symbolism still speaks to me and inspires my heart.. but nowadays words seem so noisy to me.. what matters most to me right now is pursuing a life of harmony and to be a positive influence to those around me. My hope is to smooth out my edges, to spend more time, words, thoughts, and efforts on helping others and reducing suffering in this world.
Promised to pull us all some cards, and what we are getting is the Two of Pentacles, which immediately brings up for me the image of the cells and tissues of a living being. The way salt balance is regulated within them, is by transferring excess material across the membrane, depending on which side has more, within the cell or without.
It is a big lesson to learn the same wisdom in our own much more mentally complex lives. Apply attention where necessary. Recognize when the pressure needs to be eased. When they say "go with the flow", they talk about this ability to sense what around you necessitates attention that is in the root of this card.

“But follow Me and you shall have superfluity of life, for the way of virtue is the way of exuberance.”
The Clear Recital; Teachings; The Three Loves: v14
The 2 unpronounceable names of God, according to the Madrians.
The Coming Age, volume 1
I forgot to include the above in my notes of the first volume of TCA, but it's interesting enough to warrant a small post of it's own, although it's certainly something that is really beyond my ability to write anything in-depth about. This is more of a "huh, isn't that neat" sort of post. I found this interesting because it's almost never mentioned again in any volume of TCA, although the vocalized versions are in their published Rite of Sacrifice booklet. Maybe it's just not used outside of a few rites, but it seemed like an interesting bit of lore, so to speak, that was mentioned once and then seemingly never again.
hi! i’m relatively new to deanism/filianism (personally i identify as a non denominational deanist, not specifically a filianist, but i understand the inherent links between the two and the value of filianic resources)
i’m trying to read scripture, but i’ve found myself very confused. what is the difference between the clear recital and the gospel of our mother god?
thank you so much for any help!
