This picture is has a group of small group of pigeons eating seeds that are in a small pile and are slightly scattered on the sidewalk. There is another pigeon in the street. There are many things in the background, such as unfolded cardboard boxes and a wet floor sign. Right below the curb of the sidewalk there are pieces of trash and debris covering the ground. In the bottom right corner there is a sewer. The photo on the left is the original and the photo on the right has a black and white filter on it. The filter enhances this photo because it takes away from the distractions in the background and draws more focus to the subject, the pigeons.

The photo above that is of crackled windows was taken on a school photo field trip in Chicago. On the field trip, my class and I went to Millennium Park and Pilsen, we walked around looking for intriguing sites. I went around specifically looking for things that I thought had beauty, but not something every would of seen as pretty. Though out the trip, we had certain things that we needed to find, the aspect that inspired this photo was to take a photo of something broken, which the windows were.

The photo of the wet logs with a brush in background before the blur has a lot of distractions. It has a metal pole, lamps, and a sign in the photo, but after the blur filter was added it got rid of the extra things things in the background. This allowed the texture of the logs be the focus of the viewer instead of looking at all the other distractions

The photos are of a abandon building with lots of graffiti on it, but the bottom one has a filter that adds to the complexity of the image. The filter layers the image of the building on again, which creates a double exposure. The double exposure takes the image from something you would normally see and changes it into something dream like.

For this assignment I needed to add a filter and a frame to another photo from the field trip my class took. This is a picture of a record store that has bright blue painted gates and lots of posters on the glass door and windows. The photo on the left is the original and the photo on the right is the edited version. I chose this photo of a record store because it had a lot of bright colors. The filter I chose enhances the photo because it dulls the outside of the photo and makes the vibrant colors toward the center of the photo stand out. The frame that I chose it thick and makes the photo look older. Both the filter and the frame together give the photo a vintage and bright look. 

This is a picture that I took in an alley of two garbage cans, one that is closed and the other that is open and slightly overflowing. Next to the garbage cans there is a small cardboard box with trash in it and a tall, broken, wooden chair.For this assignment I needed to add a blur filter and a frame to a photo from the field trip. The photo on the left is the original and the photo on the right is the edited version. I chose this picture because all of the items are close together with a little space around them making it perfect to add a blur to. The blur enhances the photo because it draws attention to the subject of the photo, which is the garbage cans and the wooden chair. I chose the thin black frame because it did not take away from the photo but it added definition and made the photo stand out more. 

I wanted to take this picture because the logo looked really good with the black.  I think I would have just walked passed it if I wasn't in this class.  I could improve by making sure its in focus.

On this field trip we went to Pilsen. We were able to walk around and take pictures.  I was taking pictures of a graffiti, people and things I thought were interesting like this porcelain Mary.  We were supposed to take a picture of something religious which is what inspired me to take this picture.
