This is a photo I took of an American Robin. These birds are excellent ground foragers and are common in cities but also in wilder areas, including mountain forests and Alaskan wilderness.

-Cons to me doing my field research alone: I keep pointing at bugs/critters going "woah look a cool bug/critter!" and nobody's there to go "woah lemme see!" so I'm really just entertaining myself only
This little guy could have fit in the palm of my hand, but lesser electric rays have big personalities! Able to deliver a shock between 14-37 volts using their specialized organs that give them a distinct "puffy cheeks" look, this guy didn't even bother swimming away after suffering a photo or two; simply buried himself with a whole lot of sass and glared as if to say "try me!"
If there's a situation where something biologically hurting one animal could spread to the others, which brother would do what? Which brother would look at that animal as an individual and try to save it. Which brother would see that individual, look to the population and go, "It needs to go to save the rest."
I had another story idea where I take Wild Kratts and just make it more realistic. Take conservation, and show its true colors. The good and the bad.
There was this post I saw and it's been in my head since.
This is my thinking but Martin would be the one who sees the population over the individual. He would do it. But not because Chris isn't able to, but because Chris would and Martin wouldn't want it to affect him.
Martin graduated 4 years before Chris. Martin has been a researcher for 4 years longer. Martin has seen all there is to do. Martin has been trained with no shield. But not Chris. He doesn't have to do it. Martin can be that shield for him. If only for a little longer.

Brown frogs!
There are three species of brown frogs that we encountered:
Greek frog (Rana graeca) is the smallest of the three. This one on the photo isn't dead, just weird. The frog researcher flipped it over to show us the marking on the throat and the frog kind of just... chilled on its back for a while. Greek frogs are known for their dark markings on the throat with a single white line in the middle and white belly. They are adorable and can be found all over southern Balkans.
Agile frog (Rana dalmatina) has very, very long legs. I'm holding the frog in this photo. Too bad you didn't see me running after it on all fours. As the name suggests, this is a fast, jumpy frog.
The last one is still a baby, but this is common or grass frog (Rana temporaria). You can tell that because the tip of its leg touches the snout when the leg is put up front. This is a legitimate way to differentiate these frogs. Agile frog has long legs, so its leg goes much further from the snout. Greek frog has short legs, so its legs can't even reach the snout. Grass frog is in the middle. This poor baby got kidnapped by aliens and forced to do gymnastics for science. (Disclaimer: please, do not do this to frogs unless you have actual training. This is done to differentiate species and professionals do it in just a few seconds, so it doesn't hurt the frog)
