Quillâs first date with Red.
Quill mindlessly kicked her legs back and forth over the edge of the pier, low-key checking herself out in the reflection of the ocean below her. She was wearing a space-patterned skirt, a black shirt, and combat boots. She looked good, at least, she thought so, hopefully her date would too. âHey there, Sweetcheeks.â Quill looked up to see the face of a grinning skeleton looking back down at her.Â
âHay is for horses.â She replied tartly.Â
Sans snorted as Quill stood up, dusting herself off. âAlright Quill. So what is there to do at this pier youâve been bragginâ about?âÂ
Quill stared incredulously at her date. âYouâre kidding right?â She asked. âWeâre at the Navy Pier in Chicago. Thereâs literally tons of things to do.â
âYeah?â Sans said. âProve it.â
âI will.â Quill then turned on her heel and marched forward, Sans trailing behind her. When he saw where she was leading him however, he immediately began grumbling.Â
âA boat ride?â He said incredulously. âThatâs the first thing on youâre list?âÂ
Quill glanced behind her. âIf you donât complain for the entire ride then we can get hot dogs after.âÂ
One boat ride and three hot dogs later(Sans said he deserved an extra one because Quill took every opportunity to splash him with water), Quill and Sans are wandering around the pier. Quill insists that if they walk for long enough, soon enough theyâll find something interesting. Sans thinks Quill is full of shit. But sure enough, Quill stops and grins. Turning to Sans, she points in front of them and says âLetâs do that next.â
Sans raises a browbone and asks âAmazing Chicago Funhouse Maze?â
âYep!â Quill replies happily. âCome on itâll be fun!â She says as she drags Sans to the maze.
It was fun; for Quill at least. Sans, who had just eaten two street-vendor hot dogs did not fair so well. Thankfully, he didnât actually throw up, but by the time they left, he was not in the best of moods. Quill, who by now felt a little bad, suggested they go on the Ferris Wheel, figuring it would be relaxing. âYeah, because going in a circle isnât what got me into this in the first place.â Sans snarked.
âYou can sit down.â Quill pointed out.
â...Alright letâs go.âÂ
Sans had to admit, the Ferris Wheel was relaxing, not to mention how cool it was to see everything from up so high. Quill noticed Sans enjoying the view and asked âSo I guess you didnât have a completely terrible time huh?â
âYeah, well...â Sans replied. âI guess it helps that Iâm in good company.â Quill grinned at the implied compliment, and without any warning, leaned forward and planted a kiss on Sans cheek. Sans was stunned for a moment, then he got a mischievous look on his face, and said âHeh. I think you missed there Sweetheart. Here, let me help you out...â With that, Sans cupped Quillâs cheek with one hand and landed a surprisingly soft kiss on her lips. Quill smiled into it, thinking to herself: Nope. Not terrible at all.
