Leia and Luke are padawan but do not know who their parents are. Master Skywalker is kind to them and Senator Amidala often comes by to watch the padawans. Leia is especially devoted to the Jedi code and vows to never fall in love. Unfortunately a man known as Rush Clovis keeps harassing Senator Amidala. When Leia goes to defend her he reveals to all the padawans the truth about who her parents are. She is devastated by it especially since the other padawans began to isolate her and her brother. She also refuses to be near either of her parents knowing they lied to her. Leia confronts Clovis but when she learns he has been keeping Palpatine alive and hidden she kills him. Palpatine smirks and offer to make her his new apprentice. Leia refuses and they fight. Everyone believes Palpatine killed her but she survived and hid in the Outer Rim. She hangs out with smugglers and meets Han.

Ooooo there'd be so much quiet angst from both Padmé and Anakin giving them up to keep their positions/to give the kids a good life as Jedi??/ect. I think some ppl would notice the special care Anakin pays them, wondering if he means to take one of them as a Padawan (you said Padawan but im envisioning them in late initiate era intitially). People would be surprised when he takes neither, and they end up with other Masters. (Did he quietly have to beg a Master to take Luke, who unlike his sister, nearly aged out and got sent away?)

But the special attention doesn't go away. And I'm sure they're both starry eyed about the great hero of the war and now-Master, Anakin Skywalker, paying them close attention.

I like you mentioning Leia especially dedicating herself to the Code strongly. She's a driven but also emotional person. I think she'd have to work hard to overcome her feelings during her teens (reminiscent of Ahsoka), but she's also a very focused person. We see that in her life as a Senator and leader in the rebellion in canon. I do think that would transfer to a strong focus as a Jedi learner.

Luke would be the quiet, understated hard worker I think. A bit overshadowed by his bright sister who keeps getting jokingly compared to Anakin as a Padawan for how naturally gifted she is but also headstrong.

Does anyone suspect about Padmé? Leia looks a lot like her mother. I have to imagine, since Padmé comes to see them that some people would figure out that she is their mother. But then wonder why that is a secret that no one knows. (I don't think any Jedi would reveal it though, if they guessed it. Since it would make remaining unattached harder for the twins if they knew their mother was as close as the Senate.)

Is Clovis going full incel in this scenario? Or did Palpatine get to him and start manipulating him in the last several months of the war? That would explain his alignment with the man, and the fact that he then goes on to harass Padmé down the line.

I agree that Leia would feel very betrayed by her parents secret. All along these two people who have been acquaintances of hers and authority figures she respects, have been keeping a secret from her. I think it would unbalance her too because it would bring forth thoughts like 'did they hide it because they don't want us? do they not want me as a daughter? am i not good enough?' which would distress her badly. because those aren't in line with the simplistic understanding a Padawan has of attachments. So she'd feel like she's failing her teachings, and that's also their fault. She wouldn't know how to act around them after finding out.

Does Luke know? Does she tell him just before going off to confront Clovis/running off? Also does it get out publicly? Or did Clovis only reveal this to Leia.

I'm imagining a scene where Leia, a little sixteen year old Padawan, is defending Padmé somewhere. And from across the room, Clovis, the only other person there, reveals the truth. Leia would turn to her mother with so much instant shock and betrayal. Clovis would take the chance to escape Jedi capture while Leia confronts her mother about the truth.

After that, in the following days back at the Temple, Anakin would try to talk to her about it and she'd shut him down/run off. Not wanting to hear whatever his excuses are.

(Some sort of "We planned to tell you both when you were older, when the time was right, I promise!" thing.)

The emotional upset of all of this and then killing Clovis would surely unbalance her. And she'd feel like a failure of a Jedi for it. Palpatine goading her and saying he senses her anger and darkness would only further make her think she's tainted by the dark. (Though it's not true). So after barely surviving and escaping her fight with Palpatine she flees Coruscant entirely. Feeling like she no longer deserves to be a Jedi, is no longer Light enough, ect.

I think finding his sister would become a sort of obsession for Luke after that. They, as twins who grew up in the Temple together, would have a Force bond. He'd be able to feel that she is still alive while everyone is saying that Palpatine (who has somehow returned)(sorry) killed her. As he grew into an older Padawan, at 18 or 19, he'd go off to search for her.

When they eventually reunite he'd find her alongside Han. (Is Leia fighting the good fight as a vigilante or something out there?)

(Also I think his relationship with his parents would be very awkward, like none of them knew how to act around each other after he found out and they also lost Leia. I don't think he'd reject them outright but the starry eyed vision would disappear. They'd become complicated, messy people to him, instead of these larger than life figures.)

For Anakin: You married a Senator you were tasked to protect? Sorry but you are expelled. (Well, I am not really sure if the Order would expel him, but if not, they couldnt make him a Knight)

For Padmé: You married a Padawan who was at your service right away after he lost a hand and his mother, making him emotionally vulnerable? (Even if it’s not really the truth, I think her enemies in the Senate would take advantage of this to destroy her reputation for nepotism or something like that) And she could even be dismissed from her place as Naboo's Senator.

And all of this would eventually be the reason for the end of their marriage just a year later.

Oh interesting! There's a leak by someone at the lake country and it gets back to first the Senate, and then the Jedi Council....

I think you're spot on with Padmé. I think for Naboo that senators are maybe supposed to not have partners (???? unclear), and it's certainly illegal to date Jedi, with the conflict of interest. And yeah, her adversaries in the Senate would absolutely use the fact that Anakin is a Padawan and rest of it, to paint her in a very bad light. (I think for the sake of his plans Palpatine would try to back her somewhat, but if it went public first even his support would do little). She'd lose her job in disgrace, of that I have no doubt.

I think Anakin would receive an ultimatum. The Council would be pissed at him trying to hide it, no doubt, and he'd be given a 'choose to pursue this and leave behind your training' or 'forgo this relationship and earn back respect' sort of thing. Obi-Wan would be pissed, I know it. It would cause more strife between them, if Anakin even chose the Order, which I'm not certain of. Knighting would be pushed back... well I think until around when Obi-Wan was Knighted, at the very least. Anakin would lose a whole lot of trust for doing this. Like it's not just having feelings or the fact that he and Padmé kissed/ect. It's the choice to specifically marry in secret that would get him in real trouble, no doubt.

obi-wan should fully realise this, wake the fuck up in his cave, grab his lightsaber, and just....storm the imperial capital and kill the emperor without hesitation. so high on his anger that he doesn't hear a single word of sheev's attempts at goading him. doesn't pause to fret about all the security he has to cut down to get there. doesn't hesitate a single step on his march into the jaws of would be death.

he just snaps and kills palpatine at the height of his power like it's easy.
