A couple of weeks ago I received a box full of L'Oréal Paris Fibralogy hair care products from Influenster. This box included the shampoo, conditioner, and Fibralogy booster from the Fibralogy line. I received these products for complimentary testing purposes, meaning that I got them for free in exchange for my honest review. I tried the products out five times in total and did not use any other shampoo or conditioner between these five times. I want to just start out saying that I have thin, dry, damaged hair. I put a lot of stress on my hair by bleaching it, although I do take good care of it and have taken the bleaching process very slowly. Normally I use salon quality products for my hair. I shampoo twice and condition with a deep conditioner and sometimes use a regular conditioner as a quick rinse after I leave the deep conditioner on for three minutes. My hair tangles very easily so I normally use a very intense conditioner with every shower to counteract the horrible knots that I would otherwise have to deal with after showering. With these Fibralogy products, I conditioned twice (as I normally do), rinsed, added a small amount of the booster, and then put on the conditioner on top and let that sit for a while before rinsing. I After trying the products the first time, I did notice more volume, which the products claim to do. The shampoo was pretty regular and I have no complaints and no raving opinions of it either. It was perhaps a little drying for my hair needs but what I did really love was how well it lathers. After finding out how well it lathers, I began to only shampoo once because I felt like the first shampoo was effective enough. As for the Fibralogy booster, when I put it on my hair it immediately made my hair feel a bit strange, causing an almost dry feeling even though it was wet. It did make me confident that it would volumize my hair though, and I could already feel increased texture. I did notice more volume when I used the booster vs. when I didn't, but not a ton. The packaging for this is a little awkward too, because it is a twist-off cap and once you squeeze some of the product into your hand (which is super thin and runny), it’s really difficult to screw the lid back on. Finally, the conditioner is one thing that I would not repurchase. It was not moisturizing enough and my hair was very hard to brush out after showering, especially compared to how easily I can brush my hair using my regular products. I felt like it just sat on top of my hair and then rinsed off rather than really penetrating and moisturizing my hair. The conditioner just did not meet my hair needs. The smell of the products was OK. It’s floral and I usually prefer fruity, and the conditioner smelt better than the shampoo. Because it lacked in moisturization, after the third test I ended up using my protein treatment on the ends of my hair (the product is called ‘hair crack’) to keep the ends looking fresh and not so frizzy, and it helped somewhat, but my hair didn't look as healthy as it regularly does even with this step. I would pick the healthy silky look over the volumization that these products have me, so it wasn't my favorite but I will definitely use the products when I want something different in my routine or run out of one of my regular products. For my needs, L'Oréal Paris Fibralogy wasn't the best match, but the products were not bad. Out of everything, the shampoo was my favorite because it really did clean my hair super well. The conditioner was my least favorite. I think that the products would be great for people who need the volume but don’t have problems with dry hair or suffer from frizzy damaged looking ends. It’s cheep enough in stores that it is worth trying if you want volume but don’t want to splurge on salon products. I hope that this little review might help anyone out.
