"Shtola... Where's MY winter jacket?"
Sora and M'naago are childhood besties and he didn't know she was still alive til Stormblood and he cried like a lil baby when he saw her. His efforts to help her and their people is the start of him being proactive about helping the Scions rather than being dragged through things. Lyse definitely knew who Sora was and he knew her identity before the reveal, but they both respected each other enough to keep their respective identities a secret. Shockingly, Fortuna isn't his true last name :)
Itching for a co-wol situation where his other half drags Sora through the MSQ and makes him be responsible despite his rampant protesting and laziness.
This is a song about somebody else. So don’t worry yourself, worry yourself. The devil’s right there, right there in the details. And you don’t wanna hurt yourself, hurt yourself. By looking too closely.

The Rope, The Outlaw and Subtle Praise
The sun had only just begun to rise over the horizon by the time Devlin climbed onto the deck.
Rook was already awake. Not that he was happy about it, but the coffee helped. It was about all that did these days.
Coffee in one hand, he stood near the bow inspecting the standing rigging while the harbor slowly came to life around them. The gulls had started their morning arguments, fishermen shouted to one another somewhere farther down the docks, and the sea rocked the sloop with the gentle confidence of someone who only ever did what they were created to do.
"Wow Rook, did you sleep at all?" Dev asked.
"Enough."
That seemed to be the end of the conversation.
Rook set his mug aside and tossed a coil of rope to his son. Devlin caught it against his chest with a huff.
"Bowline."
"I know what a bowline is", Devlin mused.
"Then tie one."
11. Our OCs realize they've accepted the same job. [ From Thallon, @twinfangs-and-tea ]
(got my content timelines wrong so back to writing I went) =
The notice had been simple.
Recover stolen cargo. Generous compensation upon return.
Rook had accepted before noon.
Three crates of tea. Two of silk. One marked only as fragile by a merchant who seemed far more interested in getting it back than explaining what was inside.
Following a trail of broken wagon wheels and careless footprints had led to an abandoned warehouse overlooking Limsa's lower docks.
He'd barely stepped inside before another voice echoed from deeper within.
"Please don't tell me..."
Rook rounded a stack of crates to find... A worn crimson hat that cast a shadow over striking amber eyes ringed in gold. A man. And by the looks of him, a capable one at that. Nearby, a small grass raptor nosed curiously at an overturned barrel, as if it also had come to inspect the crime scene.
9. Our OCs are both watching the same sunset, neither expecting company.

(From @of-trilliums-and-blackberries Sorry it’s anon, I just have an amount of sideblogs lol.)
Rook made his fourth climb back up from the docks with an armful of empty boxes. The coastline was rocky, and the path up the cliffsides, steep.
As he reached the upper levels of the land he noticed the sun was starting to set, and decided it was as good a time as any for a break. He took a seat by a lone tree that overlooked the ocean. Boxes piled to the side, Rook leaned against the broad trunk. He eased himself down with a tired sigh, stretching his legs toward the water as the sky slowly began to glow with the colors of yet another day ending.
Quiet.
Exactly what he'd been hoping for.
Or so he thought.
Something shifted on the opposite side of the trunk.
