AU where Hojo, Lucrecia and Vincent all become guinea pigs 🐹

Lucrecia: would you still love me if I’m a guinea pig?

Vincent: yes!!

Hojo: weren’t both of you already guinea pigs before this?!

I think Tifa’s coping mechanism would be compartmentalization in this case. In her mind, the monster who killed her dad and burned her village down, and the adorable three-foot-tall toddler currently eating her homemade cookies with two hands~ are two completely different species.

Cloud, however, has no such mental firewall. His PTSD doesn’t do nuance, so he spends the entire afternoon standing in the corner of Seventh Heaven like an alert, twitching guard dog, watching tiny Sephiroth build a sprawling, suspiciously detailed block replica of Midgar on the rug.

Cloud, arms crossed: Tifa. Tifa look at his grip on that plastic tower. That’s a combat stance. He’s ready to stab someone with it.

Tifa: Oh Cloud, he’s a little kid. He’s learning spatial awareness! It’s good for his fine motor skills. I read that in a book, you know.

Cloud: He just arranged the red blocks in the exact grid pattern of Sector 7 before the collapse. He’s planning something, I just know it.

Tifa, rushing over to wipe a crumb off Sephiroth’s cheek: He’s just a sweet, quiet little boy who loves architecture. Aren't you, sweetie? Stop comparing him to that Sephiroth.

Cloud: But this is that Sephiroth!

*Tiny Sephiroth slowly clutches the hem of her shirt with his tiny hands, and lets out a tiny, perfectly polite sniffle*

Tifa: See!? He’s terrified! He’s practically a kitten!

Cloud: That grows up to become a psychotic cat that throws a meteor at us!

*Tiny Sephiroth raises both arms above his head, makes a quiet, eerie whistling noise with his mouth—simulating an orbital descent—and brutally stomps the block city, roaring softly under his breath as he crushes the little plastic people*

Cloud: Look! Look at that! He just simulated the end of the world! How do you reconcile this?? What mental gymnastics are you performing right now to stay sane!?

Tifa: I’m taking the high road, Cloud. I’m choosing compassion. It’s what Aerith would have wanted.

*Sephiroth grabs a tiny plastic action figure with blond spiky hair and puts it in the easy-bake oven*

🔥⚔ and I have officially hit a massive milestone. The Fantasy Worlds Collide multiverse has expanded to 90 distinct Alternate Universes. Seeing this list grow from a few core concepts (that was started in 1997) and abandoned WIPS into a sprawling web of 90 different realities has been an incredible journey. Each shard of this multiverse explores a different facet of the connection between Bianca and Sephiroth, from the mundane to the cosmic.

All of these AUs take place in the Multiversal part of the FF7 arc.
